These days, Gen Alpha slang terms have taken over the internet. Every day, you will see new slang terms and phrases being used by people on the internet. However, as a parent, you do not know the meaning of a number of these words, and the first thing that strikes your mind is whether your kids should be using these terms or not.

Huzz is a very common slang term that the younger generation is using these days, and if you are interested in learning what does Huzz mean, then get ready, as we will make sure that you have all the answers that you need related to this slang term.

Discovering the meaning of Huzz

“Huzz” is this slang term some teens toss around to refer to a girl, or like… a crush, sometimes meaning somebody they like or wanna impress. Still, it kinda comes from a shortened version of a disrespectful slang term for women, so even if it’s said in a playful way, it’s not really polite language.

So yeah, in short, “huzz” is something teens are using to talk about girls, usually borrowing a vibe from older, less polite slang. At its most innocent, some teens use “huzz” just to mean a girl they like or want to impress, kinda like saying crush, boo, or pookie.

However, a lot of them also know it’s connected to an internet-mangled version of “hoes,” which is a disrespectful American slang word for women. Meaning, even if your teen is using it with no bad intentions, it’s still worth realizing it’s not exactly a polite word.

Where has the word Huzz originated from?

Like a bunch of today’s slang, “huzz” seems to have started online. Streamers and influencers started using it around 2023, and then it spread fast through TikTok and gaming culture.

One viral thing had teens show up to a group of girls and say, “Greetings and salutations, huzz.” Then they’d ask a question, which is probably how a lot of people first grabbed it. Over time, the term became a part of the common vocabulary of the younger generation.

It’s a pretty good example of how internet slang and meme culture kinda leak into real life, you know, in a not-so-clean way. So, now you know that even though Huzz is not a word that is completely wrong, it has negative connotations, and as a parent, you need to make sure that your child understands all of them.
