Unlike thin solar films, which are typically 1.5 to 2 mils thick, security films use thick, micro-layered polyester matrices ranging from 4 to 15 mils. These multi-layered structures stack alternating sheets of tensile polymer to create an incredibly tough shield that resists tearing and punctures.
