A high-upside, athletic tight end lands in a crowded situation that limits his short-term Fantasy value

Drew Allar had strong sophomore and junior seasons at Penn State. His senior season cost him.Allar played in only six games due to a broken ankle, and didnt do enough to impress NFL scouts into moving him up draft boards.Allar still ended up in a decent spot. He went to the Pittsburgh Steelers with the 12th pick of the third round, 76th overall. The Steelers will probably get Aaron Rodgers signed at some point this offseason to start in 2026, but as he enters his age-43 season, he could retire after any season. Whether that answer is Allar remains to be seen. He needs plenty of development to get to the point where he could be trusted as a starter. But the Steelers did use a valuable pick on him. The Steelers will need someone to step in when Rodgers is done. Pittsburgh just drafted Will Howard in the sixth round last year and have talked him up this offseason, though theyre clearly not sold there to use a pick on Allar, who is a project with some positive traits. The problem has been consistency and accuracy. That was an issue coming into last season and he didnt show enough improvement in those areas during his final six games in college.The good news as Allar heads into the NFL is he has the physical tools to last for a while in the league. He has plenty of work to do to refine his game, but he wont have the same pressure to develop quickly that he would have had as a higher pick.Allar isnt the first toolsy quarterback that has been drafted, with the hope that he develops his game to match his arm strength and size. He should be given some time to do that in Pittsburgh.

The Baltimore Ravens have been chosen to play the Dallas Cowboys in the NFLs inaugural game in Rio de Janeiro this season, the league announced Friday night during the draft. The Sept. 27 game will be played at Maracan Stadium. CBS and Paramount+ will air the late afternoon game. "We are honored to be chosen for the NFLs first-ever game in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil," Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti said in a release. "The international expansion of our great game has been remarkable. South America is home to some of the worlds most passionate sports fans, including our Ravens Flock in Brazil. We look forward to playing in the iconic Maracan Stadium against the Dallas Cowboys, as our league continues to engage with fans across the globe." The Cowboys had previously been announced as one of the participants in the game. "Playing in the legendary Maracan Stadium against the Ravens in front of such a passionate and growing fan base on a global stage will be very special for our team, our entire Cowboys organization and the millions watching back home and around the world," said Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones. The NFL previously made a multi-year commitment to bring at least three regular-season games to Rio de Janeiro over the next five years. The NFL has previously played two games in Brazil Packers-Eagles in 2024 and Chiefs-Chargers in 2025 at So Paulo's Corinthians Arena but this will be the first in Rio. The 2026 Rio game is part of a record nine international contests to be played during the upcoming season, across four continents, seven countries and eight stadiums. The others include three games in London (two at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and one at Wembley Stadium), and one each at Madrid's Bernabu Stadium, Melbourne's Cricket Ground, Mexico City's Estadio Banorte, Munich's FC Bayern Munich Stadium and Paris' Stade de France.
