Though the Heat has interest in DeRozan and appreciates his skills, at least one Heat official wants to be patient and wait out the market before making a move with one of the teams three open roster spots, a source said. Heat president Pat Riley has said that decisions are made by the organization collectively, among several people. DeRozan has interest in the Heat, but he has other suitors and Miami must determine quickly whether they will move forward with any offer involving at least some of the Heats remaining $8 million in exception money.Miami HeraldThis article originally appeared on Hoops Hype: Though the Heat has interest in DeRozan and

Commonwealth Games 2026 schedule, start times and how to watch
Glasgow hosts a slimmed-down version of the Commonwealth Games as athletes from 74 nations and territories compete for gold in the Scottish city. Glasgow stepped in after the Australian state of Victoria backed out three years ago due to the cost of hosting the Games. The 10-sport programme, including six Para sports, will feature athletics, gymnastics, cycling and swimming - and will take place across four Glasgow venues. The 11,000-spectator Scotstoun Stadium will stage the athletics as well as the biggest home star of the Games, new mile world record holder Josh Kerr. The Games will be shown live across TNT Sports and HBO Max, rather than on the BBC or terrestrial television. New signing Steur features as Newcastle held to draw at Gateshead
[Getty Images]Newcastle's summer signing Sean Steur played 90 minutes in Saturday's 1-1 draw at Gateshead.Luke Supyk put the National League side ahead in the first-half and it was Ben Williams' own goal that pulled Eddie Howe's men level in the second. In what was the Magpies first fan-facing friendly of the summer, Howe made lots of changes and Fabian Schar was back in action for the first time since he suffered an ankle injury in January. The Magpies midfield has been weakened by the departure of Sandro Tonali, who joined Tottenham this month in a deal worth up to 100m.Young midfielders Sean Steur and Aladji Bamba have since arrived from Ajax and Monaco respectively.Although Saturday's game came too soon for Bamba, whose move was announced on Friday, Steur played 90 minutes."He played really well today," Howe said. "He can be really pleased with his performance and first showing in Newcastle colours."It is rare for an academy graduate to leave Ajax at 18, and for a fee worth up to 23m.However, Newcastle have to take calculated risks before potential signings like Steur potentially explode in value and are out of reach.Dutchman Steur clearly has promise. There were glimpses of Steur's technical ability, composure and vision against National League side Gateshead. But he will need time to adapt to the physicality and intensity of the Premier League.Newcastle continue their pre-season preparations at Bristol City on Wednesday, 29 July (19:30 BST).

The challenge with Kuminga is that if hes gonna take
Hes been in talks this free agency on a new contract or a potential sign-and-trade out of Atlanta, but nothing has materialized nearly a month into the process. According to NBA insider Keith Smith, the biggest obstacle with Kuminga is the length of the deal. He can only be traded if he signs a three-year deal, but he insists on signing a one-year contract if he has to accept less money than hes aiming for. The challenge with Kuminga is that if hes gonna take less money than what he wants, then he only wants to do it for a year, reported Keith Smith. He doesnt want to do a three-year deal, and in order to do a sign-and-trade, he would have to have a three-year contract. That gets him stuck a little bit. He doesnt want to be on a smaller contract that devalues himself.Fade Away WorldThis article originally appeared on Hoops Hype: The challenge with Kuminga is that if hes gonna take

Now that LeBron James has chosen to play in Philadelphia for the Sixers , the NBA free agent market is nearing its end. One player who has stirred up a storm in Europe is directly affected by this situation: Croatian Mario Hezonja . His agent has hinted on social media that his client could be headed to the Cleveland Cavaliers . Misko Raznatovic, who has been handling Hezonja's affairs since last February, wrote the following in X: The Republic of Dubrovnik and its citizens have always been known for their commercial spirit. Centuries have passed, things have changed, and now that mentality has somehow become something chivalrous, equestrian... He is referring to Dubrovnik , Croatia, the player's hometown, an identity already linked to knights and horsemanship . This allusion is interpreted as a nod to the Cavaliers (knights or horsemen).AS.comThis article originally appeared on Hoops Hype: One player who has stirred up a storm in Europe is
