FA deeply concerned by FIFA plans to sell competition stakes
The English Football Association has said it is deeply concerned by FIFAs plan to sell stakes in its major competitions.FIFA announced on Tuesday proposals to set up a private company to run its competitions which would have links to the extended family of United States President Donald Trump. The announcement produced a furious backlash from European footballs governing body UEFA, which insisted the World Cup is not an asset to trade and may lead to the Confederation boycotting the tournament. We were completely unaware of this proposal and have no substantive details, including what the proposition actually is, and what conditions are attached, the FA said in a statement on Wednesday.Based on the limited information, we are deeply concerned about the lack of process and governance to get to this point, and the apparent substance and principles involved. When the proposal is shared in the full and transparent way now promised by FIFA, we will make our views clear, and comment further.

WTC 2025-27 points table: Pakistan slump to last after West Indies defeat; where do India stand?
Pakistan dropped to the bottom of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 standings after an 90-run defeat to the West Indies in the opening Test at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy. It was Pakistan's eighth straight away Test loss, leaving them with just one win from five matches and a points percentage (PCT) of 6.66.West Indies, despite the victory, remained eighth in the standings with two wins from 11 Tests. India are currently fifth with four wins, four defeats and one draw from nine matches, while Australia continue to lead the table ahead of defending champions South Africa. After being bowled out for 311 in the first innings, led by Shai Hope's 92 and Kevam Hodge's 84, West Indies restricted Pakistan to 282 despite Shan Masood's century. Justin Greaves starred with the ball, claiming a five-wicket haul. The hosts then recovered from 93/7 in the second innings thanks to a crucial 61-run stand between Kemar Roach and Shamar Joseph, setting Pakistan a target of 211.Pakistan's batting collapsed under pressure as they were bowled out for just 120. Babar Azam remained unbeaten on 58 but found little support from the rest of the batting order. ICC (@ICC) Jayden Seales starred with the ball, taking 5/20, while Greaves and Roach picked up two wickets each to seal a memorable victory for the West Indies. 132705179ICC World Test Championship 2025-27 StandingsRankTeamMatchesWonLostDrawPointsPCT1Australia87108487.502South Africa43103675.003New Zealand64115272.224Bangladesh42112858.335India94415248.156Sri Lanka41122041.677England134813824.368West Indies112723022.739Pakistan514046.66

Jaguars 53-man roster projection on first day of training camp
The first training camp practice for the Jacksonville Jaguars takes place on Wednesday, but before the players take the field, let's put together our initial 53-man roster prediction.Things can certainly change over the next month of practices and preseason games, but given what we know at this time following offseason programs, here is how I see the final roster shaking out.Quarterbacks (2)Trevor Lawrence, Nick MullensI don't see Mullens' job as the backup being in jeopardy, given his experience. The Jaguars rostered only two quarterbacks last season.Running back (3)Bhayshul Tuten, Chris Rodriguez, LeQuint AllenUnless the Jaguars roster a fourth running back, as they often did in 2025, this room is pretty well set.Wide receiver (5)Brian Thomas Jr., Parker Washington, Jakobi Meyers, CJ Williams, Josh CameronThe Jaguars will have six wideouts with Travis Hunter, but he still only accounts for one roster spot. Williams and Cameron performed well in the offseason but will have to show they can help on special teams. Tight end (4)Brenton Strange, Nate Boerkircher, Tanner Koziol, Quintin MorrisHunter Long is the odd man out with Koziol largely able to fill a similar role. I chose Morris over Long because of his special teams contributions and ability as a blocker.Offensive line (9)Cole Van Lanen, Ezra Cleveland, Robert Hainsey, Patrick Mekari, Anton Harrison, Walker Little, Wyatt Milum, Emmanuel Pregnon, Jonah MonheimChuma Edoga was left off the roster. Little and Milum are options at left and right tackle, while Milum and Pregnon are backups at guard.Defensive line (10)Josh Hines-Allen, Travon Walker, Danny Striggow, BJ Green, Zach Durfee, Wesley Williams, Arik Armstead, Albert Regis, DaVon Hamilton, Ruke OrhorhoroI went heavy and kept all six defensive ends, and then light at defensive tackle, rostering only four. Someone will have to emerge to secure that fifth spot.Linebacker (6)Ventrell Miller, Foye Oluokun, Dennis Gardeck, Jack Kiser, Branson Combs, Jalen McLeodThe Jaguars rostered six linebackers last year, and beyond figuring out if Miller or Combs is starting next to Oluokun, we will see McLeod, Parker Hughes, and Yasir Abdullah competing for one potential roster spot. I went with McLeod because he had a strong performance in the spring and can rush the passer, similar to Gardeck.Cornerback (6)Travis Hunter, Montaric Brown, Jourdan Lewis, Jarrian Jones, Christian Braswell, Jabbar MuhammadBraswell saw regular playing time during the second half of last season, while Muhammad was one of the standout performers from the offseason.Safety (5)Antonio Johnson, Eric Murray, Caleb Ransaw, Jalen Huskey, Rayuan LaneThis position group seems to be pretty well set.Special teams (3)Logan Cooke, Ross Matiscik, Cam LittleNo mystery here. This article originally appeared on Jaguars Wire: Jaguars 53-man roster projection on first day of training camp
