The Calhoun, Georgia native gives Dabo Swinney and his staff another highly regarded passer to develop as they continue building for the future.Hawkins has been a familiar face in Clemson over the past year. CINCINNATI (AP) While BJ Hill is opening training camp on the active/physically unable to perform list with an undisclosed injury, the Cincinnati Bengals have the benefit of entering the season with the deepest group of defensive tackles that the team has had in years.The 31-year-old Hill was banged up for much of last season. Coach Zac Taylor said on Monday that he doesnt expect Hill to miss all of training camp and the D-lineman is doing as well as we had hoped.In March, the Bengals signed a projected starting defensive tackle in Jonathan Allen, who has been one of the more consistent pass rushing defensive tackles in the NFL over the last few seasons.Then in April, an unexpected opportunity to trade for star defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence came up for the Bengals. After making that trade with the New York Giants, every defensive tackle was bumped down one spot on the pecking order.The Bengals view that as a positive.We believe you have to have different waves of guys who can come in, stay fresh and keep you out of those really long drives where guys wear down, Bengals director of player personnel Duke Tobin said. You have to have that competent second wave of guys. The teams that have played the best defense have that. Seattle had that last year. They have multiple waves of guys who came in.Veteran nose tackle TJ Slaton, the Bengals biggest acquisition on defense leading up to last season, now projects Lawrences backup. Slaton has a track record of being one of the better run-stuffing nose tackles in the NFL. Collins still commands a top 20 pick in Yahoo leagues, which means you have to draft him at his ceiling. Ill enjoy the show, but eschew that draft cost.McMillan was an impactful rookie (70-1014-7), justifying the early pick the Panthers spent on him. But his upside is likely capped, mostly because of the limitations of QB Bryce Young. Teammate Jalen Coker isnt in McMillans class, but hes likely to improve this year as well, carving out a bigger share. I also worry about this offense as a whole, noting an offensive line thats already had injuries this summer.The Eagles are in a transitional phase with their offense and their WR room, so it makes sense that Smith would be especially leaned on as the most familiar piece. Smith figures to challenge for his career-best 136 targets from four years ago, and you can probably take 7-8 touchdowns to the bank. His efficiency metrics have been remarkably stable his entire career; he just needs a slight bump in usage to beat his ADP. Ill bet on him.McConkeys second season was a disappointment, but Ill file that as an excused absence the offensive line fell apart early, the play calling was stale and uninspired, the target tree was especially crowded. The Chargers still boast a deep and dynamic target tree, but McConkey can absorb some of Keenan Allens vacated targets. The hire of OC Mike McDaniel is obviously a boost, and I cant unsee what McConkey did in the second half of his rookie year, when he looked like a superstar. Teammates Colston Loveland and Luther Burden III were drafted after the Johnson hire, but Odunze was inherited by the current coaching staff. On a team overflowing with target players, Odunze is a reasonable fade.Sutton has traditionally been one of those boring veteran values we often talk about, an unsexy but consistent producer. And once again the ADP is appealing, as new teammate Jaylen Waddle is screening the case. Suttons average season the last three years meshes out around 70 catches, 1,000 yards and 8-9 touchdowns, all reasonable areas for this years projection. Not everything has to be a swing for the fences often time a single or a double is just fine.Pierce is a ridiculous deep threat, leading the NFL in yards per catch two straight seasons. That output landed him a juicy extension after the year. But the Colts have been reluctant to force the ball to Pierce (hes never had more than 84 targets) or expand his route tree. Hes also coming off ankle surgery, aiming to fix a problem that dogged him the last two years. Its remarkable that Pierce has been this dynamic while not being 100% over this span, but Im going to assume hes not at full throttle to open the fresh season.
