A former Nebraska running back entered the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday. Roger Craig is the sixth former Nebraska player to be named to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.The former Husker spent 11 seasons in the NFL, nine of them with theSan Fransico 49ers. He was a three-time Super Bowl champion in San Fransicowith four Pro Bowl selections and an All-Pro selection in 1988. The former Husker is also a member of the NFL's 1980s All-Decade Team and the49ersHall of Fame.Craig was also the first player to have 1,000 rushing yards and 1,000 receiving yards in the same season (1985). The Davenport, Iowa, native played at Nebraska from 1979 to 1982. During his time with the Huskers, he ran for 2,446 yards and 26 touchdowns. He was a second-round selection in the 1983 draft.Craig did not deliver his speech from the podium and delivered a videotaped speech. In that speech, he announced that he had been diagnosed with vascular dementia, a condition that leads to cognitive decline and memory loss.I want people to know this diagnosis doesn't define me. Carlos Rodon was on the mound in live game action Saturday for the first time since going down with elbow inflammation.The Yankeessouthpaw tossed 48 pitches (29 strikes) across 2.2 innings, allowing three runs on three hits and two walks while striking out four batters for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.It was an inauspicious start for Rodon. Seaver King took Rodon deep to lead off the game. Rodon bounced back to get the next three batters out to end the first inning. After a 1-2-3 second inning, Rodon ran into trouble in the third. After striking out the first batter of the inning, four batters in a row reached base (a double, two walks and a triple) as Rochester pushed across two more runs.After Rodon struck out his fourth batter to get the second out of the third, he was pulled.Rodon would have pitched deeper, but Yankees managerAaron Boone said earlier this week that the plan was for the southpaw to throw around 50 pitches.Once Rodon recovers well from this rehab start, the Yankees will determine next steps for the veteran, but Boone said that they are considering using Rodon in a piggyback role since the rotation already has five starters (Gerrit Cole, Cam Schlittler, Max Fried, Ryan Weathers and Will Warren).Rodon missed the first two months of the season while recovering from left elbow surgery, and pitched nine starts. In those starts, the left-hander went 4-2 with a 3.30 ERA and 52 strikeouts in 46.1 innings. After a strong professional debut in the Hall of Fame game, Carson Beck is drawing fantasy managers' attention. Could he have value this season?The mistake the fantasy market is making about Beck (QB35 ADP) is tied directly to the mistake it's making about Jacoby Brissett (QB28 ADP). The assumption is that Beck -- a third-round rookie who's turning 25 in November -- is Arizona's future franchise quarterback, while Brissett is merely a bridge quarterback who will step aside midseason once the Cardinals are virtually out of playoff contention.What gets lost in this narrative is that despite missing Marvin Harrison Jr. for five of his starts (and the better part of a sixth start), and despite having a backfield comprised of backups, Brissett played so well last season that the franchise decided it was better to pay Kyler Murray a massive sum simply to go elsewhere. Now the Cardinals have a healthy offensive corps that includes future elite rookie RB Jeremiyah Love and capable 1B/backup Tyler Allgeier.I get that Arizona has a potentially brutal intra-divisional schedule that could doom their chances of reaching even six wins. But last year he had 19.4 fantasy points against the #1 defense (Seahawks) in points yielded per game. He posted 20.6 against the #2 defense (Texans). In four other matchups against top-third defenses, he netted 18.3 per game.If the Cards dump him for Beck midseason, there's no going back. Brissett will be a free agent and will sign elsewhere.
