Former Scotland captain Jamie Ritchie is confident that a switch to Glasgow Warriors will suit his style as he looks forward to reuniting with some old friends.The flanker, 29, spent 11 years playing with Edinburgh before spending last season in France with Perpignan."For me, obviously seeing the success that Glasgow have had over the last few years is a huge motivating factor in wanting to join the group," Ritchie said in a club interview."Obviously I know a lot of the boys really well and I have a great deal of respect for Franco Smith's coaching and what he's done here."I think the way they play rugby will suit how I like to play and hopefully I can contribute really well here. Fantasy football IDP rankings are harder to come by than the standard NFL fare, especially DL rankings. Its a niche Ive enjoyed for more than 20 years. But I understand the broader appeal of an offense-only league. Or even the use of kickers and team defenses, which Ive avoided for about a decade. Just pointing out personal preferences are okay and dont need to be justified. Play in and enjoy the leagues that you like!In IDP leagues, I prefer a split between defensive tackles and defensive ends. Ideally, you should have to start one defensive tackle and two defensive ends.My 2026 IDP DL rankings diverge from the consensus more in the depths than in the shallows. Best to play it safe and stick with the names whove been getting it done for years at the top.The consensus and my own IDP DL rankings align closely at the top. Myles Garrett, Aidan Hutchinson and the other elite pass rushers sit in similar spots on both. However, I have Garrett in his own first tier. I think hes earned it, even on a new team. Hopefully, hell soon be joined by future Hall of Famer and the greatest defensive tackle of all time (its not close), Aaron Donald.The gaps in my DL rankings show up in the later rounds, where offseason moves and injuries changed how I read five players. Three of them fall inside my top 36, so they carry real weight for draft-day decisions assuming youre in a deeper league. Before the injury, he had 12.5 sacks in 13 games for Green Bay. The talent is not in question at all. But, Id just as easily not draft him at all because of all the games he will miss.DeForest Buckner, DT, Indianapolis ColtsIndianapolis Colts defensive tackle DeForest Buckner (99) excelled in an injury-shortened 2025 and gets a bump in my IDP DL rankings.DeForest Buckner has been a reliable staple in DL rankings. Ive slotted him up five spots from 22 into Tier 3 at 17, ahead of several edge rushers the consensus prefers. Interior linemen who pile up tackles hold extra value in IDP formats because they deliver steadier, more reliable production. Buckner does that when healthy. He posted 47 tackles and four sacks in just 10 games last season before a neck injury ended his year, a pace near 75 tackles across a full schedule. He had surgery on a herniated disc in December and has been cleared to return to his starting job in Indianapolis for his age-32 season.Josh Sweat, LB/DE, Arizona CardinalsArizona Cardinals linebacker Josh Sweat (10) against the Atlanta Falcons at State Farm Stadium. He set a career high with 12 sacks in his first year with Arizona and added 30 tackles, four forced fumbles and 13 tackles for loss across all 17 games. He reunited with head coach Jonathan Gannon and defensive coordinator Nick Rallis, who coached him during his 2021 Pro Bowl season with the Philadelphia Eagles. His counting production has stayed low for a first-round talent, but thats also the nature of being a defensive tackle. Most of his impact is felt in pressure and absorbing blockers. He recorded 33 tackles and three sacks in a season shortened by a Week 1 ejection and later absences, after 42 tackles and 4.5 sacks the year before. His run-defense grade ranked near the bottom of qualified interior linemen last season. The 2026-27 League One season kicks off on Saturday [Getty Images]The Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) has started legal proceedings against the English Football League (EFL) over changes to salary caps in League One.In May, the EFL announced that Squad Cost Rules (SCR) would replace the current Profitability and Sustainability (P&S) financial framework from 2026-27.In League One the changes would reduce the percentage of turnover that clubs could spend on wages from 60% to 50%. Teams relegated from the Championship are permitted to spend 65% of turnover on wages in their first season in the third tier, down from 75%.Manager pay has also been incorporated into the new framework and clubs are also restricted to spending no more than 50% of injection of cash from owners on wages.In a statement on Tuesday, the EFL said it was "concerned and disappointed" by the PFA's legal challenge and it "did not consider the new rules to be a major change in the regulation of the league affecting a player's terms and conditions of employment"."They are designed to support responsible cost control and improve financial sustainability across League One," it added."This is not about undermining players' interests. It is about creating a stable environment in which clubs can meet their obligations and continue to invest in football."Meanwhile the league said that it would continue to "engage constructively with the PFA and other stakeholders".The PFA argued the league could not implement changes "unless there was full agreement" with the Football Negotiating and Consultative Committee (PFNCC)."We believe that the process through which clubs have voted to bring in these new measures, which will artificially restrict and tighten what clubs can spend on player wages was not in line with the consultation and agreement process required by the EFL's membership (alongside the PFA, FA and Premier League) of the Professional Football Negotiating and Consultative Committee (PFNCC)," a PFA statement said.The EFL said that it "did not accept that the PFA's position was correct".A previous plan for salary caps to be brought into League One and League Two were withdrawn in 2021 following a decision by an independent arbitration panel.Third-tier clubs would have been given a 2.5m ceiling for salaries and fourth tier sides 1.25m under the proposals however a claim from the PFA that the caps were "unlawful and unenforceable" was upheld by the panel.

The Denver Broncos had a major piece of their new stadium land fall into place on Monday. SRM Concrete and the team came to terms on an undisclosed agreement to purchase about 10 acres of land surrounding Burnham Yard, the preferred site of the Broncos' upcoming stadium, according to Parker Gabriel of the Denver Post.SRM Concrete was mentioned by name from Broncos owner and CEO Greg Penner at the NFL's annual meetings at the end of March as being one of the holdouts in the area in and around Burnham Yard, and one of the largest hurdles to cross before ground can be broken on a new stadium ahead of a projected 2031 opening of a new stadium. Broncos president Damani Leech recently spoke about developments concerning the stadium, saying the team and the community need to work together to get Burnham Yard ready for the mixed-use development and stadium. Just a week ago, the team shared incredible renderings of what Burnham Yard may look like in the future.One of the last major dominoes that needs to fall is the relocation of Denver Water, one of the biggest companies still located at Burnham Yard. Conversations surrounding the relocation are still ongoing, and details are still being ironed out. "Were laser-focused on delivering (the new stadium) by 2031," Leech said earlier this month. "Its been a great effort by ownership, ourselves, the staff, the city. Ive got to be honest, I wish we were further along in some areas than we are now. I think areas where we do control, particularly real estate, you mentioned Burnham Yard, real estate, engaging with the community, weve done site tours of the location, the design of the stadium continues to evolve, the master plan continues to evolve."With all the recent developments, the hope is the Broncos are on track to build their new home soon. The team is hoping to put shovels in the ground in late spring or early summer of 2027.Despite all stadium developments, the show must go on. The Broncos resume training camp practice on Tuesday, preparing for their first preseason game of 2026 against the Atlanta Falcons on Friday.
