Some notable games include the Wildcats first conference game on New Years Eve traveling to Gainesville to take on Florida. On January 10th UK will host Texas - the SEC Tournament Champions and the team that knocked Kentucky out of the Sweet 16 back in March.There will be just one home-and-home match up this season which will be with Tennessee. UK welcoming in the Vols on January 21st before traveling to their house a month later on February 21st. The Red Sox have scored three runs or fewer in each defeat, turning one of baseballs hottest lineups into a group suddenly searching for answers.It is Bostons longest losing streak since it dropped four consecutive games from June 7-10. The Red Sox fell to 64-55 and now sit 8.5 games behind the Tampa Bay Rays in the American League East. They also have lost the first two games of their four-game series against a Toronto club that entered Tuesday well below .500.Red Sox Waste Early Lead Against Blue JaysBoston initially appeared positioned to end its skid. Ceddanne Rafaela opened the scoring with a sacrifice fly in the third inning. After Toronto tied the game in the bottom half, Wilyer Abreu launched his 21st home run of the season to give the Red Sox a 2-1 advantage.Rafaela then led off the fifth with a 411-foot solo homer, his 16th of the year, to extend Bostons lead to two runs. Those two solo shots represented the extent of the Red Soxs damage.Boston finished 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position and stranded nine runners despite drawing seven walks. The Red Sox did not score over the final four innings against a Blue Jays bullpen that included Chase Lee, Brendon Little, Braydon Fisher and Spencer Miles.The missed opportunities were especially costly after Boston built a 3-1 lead against Dylan Cease, who entered the night with a 2.40 ERA and an American League-leading strikeout total. The Red Sox put traffic on the bases. They simply could not deliver the hit that might have changed the game.Costly Error Helps Toronto Turn Game AroundPatrick Sandoval gave Boston a respectable start, allowing four runs, only two earned, on eight hits over six innings. He struck out four and walked three.The game began slipping away from the Red Sox in the fifth. Caleb Durbins fielding error allowed Myles Straw to reach safely. Charles McAdoo followed with a sacrifice fly before Brett Bateman delivered a game-tying RBI single.Toronto took the lead one inning later when George Springer walked, advanced to third on Alejandro Kirks single and scored on Ernie Clements fielders choice.Straw added an insurance run with an RBI double against Seth Martinez in the eighth. Bostons pitching staff did not surrender a home run, but Toronto collected 10 hits and went 3-for-7 with runners in scoring position. That is a jarring reversal after their 25-run outburst created the impression that Bostons lineup had found another gear.Instead, the Red Sox have scored only 10 total runs since.Boston will try to stop the skid Wednesday when left-hander Ranger Surez takes the mound against Toronto right-hander Jos Soriano.The Red Sox still have time to recover, but their margin for error is shrinking. While 31 other teams wouldn't take note of this and pick up their phones to recruit Cooper, the same couldn't be said for the Philadelphia Eagles, who took a shot on him in free agency.The Eagles' gamble on the 24-year-old would show some serious potential in the preseason, as Cooper recorded six receptions for 82 yards, including a 20-yard touchdown in a game against the Cincinnati Bengals. The Washington Commanders continue to churn the bottom of the roster ahead of this week's preseason opener. After signing four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver last week, the Commanders signed three veteran offensive linemen for depth. On Monday, Washington added defensive tackle Byron Cowart. After Tuesday's practice, the Commanders revealed another signing: linebacker Curtis Jacobs. Jacobs, a 6-foot-1, 243-pound linebacker from Penn State, went undrafted in the 2024 NFL Draft. He signed with the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent, but was waived during final cuts. The New England Patriots claimed Jacobs off waivers, which is where he spent his rookie season, appearing in nine games and recording four tackles. After being released last March, the Tennessee Titans signed Jacobs, but he was again waived during final cuts. He signed with the New York Giants practice squad, was waived, and then re-signed with the Titans practice squad. He appeared in three games for Tennessee last fall. Jacobs is familiar with the area, having graduated from the McDonogh School in Owings Mills, Maryland. Jacobs joins a crowded linebackers room, featuring Sonny Styles, Frankie Luvu, Leo Chenal and Jordan Magee.
