2026 NFL Free Agency: Who Signs Top WRs Alec Pierce, Stefon Diggs, Tyreek Hill?
Where will Alec Pierce, the top wide receiver in NFL free agency, land? Which team will sign Stefon Diggs, who was informed of his release by the Patriots this week after he played in his first Super Bowl? What about five-time All-Pro Tyreek Hill? Or Bucs legend Mike Evans? Here are the top 10 free-agent wide receivers and the team pairings that make the most sense: 10. Tyreek Hill: Kansas City Chiefs Hill is 32, coming off a serious knee injury and has had the worst two-year stretch of his career. But if his medicals check out, a reunion with the Chiefs makes sense. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes recovering from a torn ACL of his own needs more help at receiver. Andy Reid and Eric Bieniemy, whos returning as Kansas Citys offensive coordinator after three years away, know how to use Hill, who would benefit from familiarity after a rough ending to his Dolphins tenure. 9. Mike Evans: Tampa Bay Buccaneers Evans has played his entire 12-year career with the Bucs, and itd make sense for him to return to Tampa for a 13th. At 32 years old and coming off an eight-game season due to injuries, the veteran wideout may not get the kind of offers he feels like he deserves on the open market. And hes long said that he wants to be a "Buc for life." 8. Keenan Allen: New Orleans Saints Saints head coach Kellen Moore and offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier were both on the Chargers coaching staff in 2023, when Allen made his last Pro Bowl. And New Orleans desperately needs wide receiver help for second-year quarterback Tyler Shough. Outside of Chris Olave, who surpassed 1,100 yards receiving, the Saints didnt have a wide receiver who finished the season on their roster reach the 300 yards mark. 7. Jauan Jennings: Tennessee Titans The Titans desperately need quality, veteran receiver reinforcements around second-year QB Cam Ward. A strong option is Jennings, who had 1,618 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns over the past two seasons with the Niners. Signing with the Titans would mark a homecoming for Jennings, a Cowan, Tenn., native who went to high school roughly 30 minutes outside of Nashville and played his college ball at Tennessee. 6. Deebo Samuel: Miami Dolphins New Dolphins offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik was an assistant in San Francisco during Samuels first four seasons with the Niners (2019-22), including his first-team All-Pro campaign in 2021. Jaylen Waddle was the only Miami wide receiver to surpass 400 receiving yards last season, so Samuel could get plenty of touches in the Dolphins offense. 5. Rashid Shaheed: Seattle Seahawks The Seahawks are reportedly prepared to let Shaheed hit free agency, but that could just be to get a proper feel for his market. Seattle gave up two middle-round picks for the Pro Bowl returner in November. It would be bad business to let him walk after just three months especially after he delivered three special teams touchdowns en route to helping the Seahawks win their second Lombardi Trophy in franchise history. 4. WanDale Robinson: Tennessee Titans In Tennessee, Robinson would reunite with new Titans offensive coordinator Brian Daboll, his Giants head coach for the first 48 games of his career. Some of Dabolls best NFL offenses have come when hes had a dependable slot option, a role that Robinson could fill nicely for QB Cam Ward. A former second-round pick, Robinson has had 140 targets in back-to-back seasons. 3. Stefon Diggs: New York Jets The Jets need a WR2 alongside Garrett Wilson, and staying in the AFC East would allow Diggs to play the Patriots and Bills two of his former teams twice a year. A four-time Pro Bowler, Diggs went over 1,000 receiving yards in his lone season in New England. 2. Romeo Doubs: San Francisco 49ers Doubs has had to share targets throughout his career in Green Bay, but hed have an opportunity to be a primary option with the 49ers, who have Jennings, Kendrick Bourne and Skyy Moore all hitting free agency. Star tight end George Kittle (Achilles) could also miss most or all of 2026. 1. Alec Pierce: Indianapolis Colts Colts general manager Chris Ballard and coach Shane Steichen are firmly on the hot seat after last seasons collapse. So its not difficult to imagine Indianapolis finding a way to pay up for Pierce, a consistent, big-play threat and this years top free-agent receiver even if it means giving him a deal upward of $30 million per year. Pierce broke out last season as a favorite of Daniel Jones, who was given the transition tag by the Colts while the QB and the team work on a long-term deal. The Bills trade for Bears receiver DJ Moore on Thursday takes one potential suitor off the board for Pierce, who has led the NFL in yards per reception in back-to-back seasons.

Jayson Tatum listed as 'questionable' for Friday vs. Dallas, reports continue he could make season debut
Jayson Tatum is officially listed as "questionable" on the Boston Celtics' injury report for when they host the Dallas Mavericks Friday night. For players who have been out for an extended time due to an injury Tatum has yet to play this season after tearing his Achilles in last season's playoff series against the Knicks a move from "out" to "questionable" is usually a sign they will return in the next game. There have been reports that Tatum was nearing his return to the Celtics lineup, and we know he has gone through multiple 5-on-5 scrimmages (including with the G League Maine Celtics). However, a move to questionable on the injury report is a clear sign he is coming back and soon. While Tatum and the Celtics have refused to put a timeline on a return or even confirm it would happen both his and the team's actions have been those of someone making a comeback this season. Players don't get sent down to the G League for a practice and workout unless they are coming back. Boston doesn't trade wing Anfernee Simons for needed big man depth in Nikola Vucevic unless they are getting another wing back and thinking ahead to a playoff run. Also, Tatum has an ongoing docuseries on his return "The Quiet Work," available on Peacock which only happens if a return is expected. The question was the return date, and the only thing that had been said officially was that any return would happen at home. That left Friday against Dallas, or waiting until March 14, when the Washington Wizards come to town. It looks as if Boston and Tatum are going sooner rather than later.A Tatum return now gives the Celtics about six weeks before the start of the playoffs to get him back into game shape and work out any kinks.Tatum is welcomed back with open arms, but it's also a bit of a delicate fit.Tatum is one of the game's elite players, he has finished in the top six in MVP voting each of the past four seasons, and last season averaged 26.8 points, 8.7 rebounds and six assists per game. He's a career 37% shooter from 3-point range who has to be respected anywhere on the court, and he is also a plus defender. The challenge is Boston and Jaylen Brown in particular are thriving without him. Boston has been one of the great stories of the season, surprising everyone outside of their locker room with a 41-21 record so far, sitting second in the East, and in the top six in the league in offense and defense. Jaylen Brown is being mentioned in the MVP conversation for leading this surprise team, averaging 28.9 points, 7.2 rebounds, and five assists per game.Tatum needs to come back and fit into what is working, not try to take over his old role (he likely will be less than 100% of himself). Tatum has to be the mature player and take on a secondary role this season, something he has hinted at doing in speaking with the media, but saying it and doing it can be different things. If Tatum returns and fills that role, Boston may well be the favorite now to come out of a wide-open East. That journey looks like it will start on Friday.

Celtics' Jayson Tatum listed as 'questionable,' on verge of return 9 months after Achilles surgery
Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum is on the verge of making a return to NBA action nine months after rupturing his right Achilles tendon injury during last seasons playoffs.Tatum was listed as questionable on the Celtics injury report on Thursday ahead of the teams home matchup with the Dallas Mavericks on Friday night. It is the first time this season he hasnt been listed as sidelined and undergoing rehabilitation for the injury he suffered during Game 4 of Bostons Eastern Conference semifinal loss to the New York Knicks last May.Celtics president of basketball operations Brad Stevens has said that Tatum wouldnt be cleared to return until he was ready to play both physically and mentally. That time may have arrived.Tatum also has previously indicated that his return to the court would be a home game. The Celtics (41-21) have 20 games remaining in the regular season, including 11 at TD Garden. Boston is currently in second place in the East standings.I didnt come back to be no role player, Doc, Tatum said weeks after the surgery to his physician during a checkup that was chronicled in the recently released documentary The Quiet Work, which followed his rehab process. When Tatum was injured last season, his thoughts quickly pivoted away from the devastation he felt for himself and what would soon be the end of his teams bid to repeat as NBA champions. He made the decision quickly to begin the process of turning the page and opted to have surgery the very next day.The typical rehabilitation window to return to basketball action following Achilles tendon surgery is between 9 and 12 months. If he indeed plays on Friday, the 28-year-old Tatum, who had surgery on May 13, will make his return to the court after 298 days.Thats not far beyond the recovery time it took for Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer Dominique Wilkins to recover from his Achilles tendon rupture. Wilkins returned at age 33 after 283 days to play in the 1992-93 season. He went on to appear in 71 regular-season games that year, averaging 29.9 points per game and being named to the All-Star team.Tatums childhood idol, Kobe Bryant, made it back to the court after about eight months, but was hampered by subsequent injuries.Tatum is in the first season of the five-year, $314 million extension he signed in 2024. He celebrated his 28th birthday on Tuesday.___AP NBA: https://apnews.com/hub/nba
