Leaving St Moritz with the leader bin in Downhill was not on my bingo card… but I’ll take it! This weekend was amazing in so many ways. All the work that was put in over the past year is coming together. There are so many positives to take away from these races but I also always strive to be better. And I can be better. I have things to work on for next weekend in Val d’Isere and I am very excited to keep pushing myself to get better. Also, huge congrats to my teammates this weekend as well! A lot of personal best results and overall the team is on a roll! I’m leaving happy, grateful, humbled, tired…. Couldn’t ask for more. 🙏🏻 The best is yet to come! #sportivo

It’s just so lovely to skate in a place like this and we wanted to just fill that with our energy and be grateful. We always take competitions as feedback and we our favorite thing is to see how we can improve and to make a goal and execute that. Katie McBEATH / Daniil PARKMAN 🇺🇸 3./160.26 Katie: Well, it was a pretty big disappointment for us, but, you know, in a season, there’s a lot of ups and downs and a lot of learning experiences. I definitely can say for myself that there’s some fatigue, so I just have got to go get some rest and reset the mind. Because my body’s good. For me, personally, my portion of the short program was very good yesterday and Daniil and I, we know we can do a good long, we can do a good competition. We’ve had a lot of improvement this year, so it’s just resetting the mind, getting some rest, and then moving forward. (on coming to Warsaw Cup) Anytime we can come and represent our country, that’s amazing. At the end of the day, this is just ice skating. It’s just one program and by the time we do another program, everyone’s going to forget about this program. There’s always another performance. We all love figure skating and we love to show it off and we love to watch it. We also like to get to experience new places, new cities. It’s absolutely amazing. I was able to do the combo, and I think I really carried the performance well today.” “My federation told me actually in the hallway in Skate Canada to go back to the ‘Lion King’ program, and I was like: you don’t need to tell me twice, I really like that one. We couldn’t clear the other music either. So at this point, we don’t know what’s going to happen, but regardless, I’m happy to be doing this program for a few events, even if it’s not the one I take on for the second half of the year.” On what helped her through the rough start of the season: “It was really a rough start to the season. I think I just kind of felt the pressure of wanting to do the best. I had a really great World Championships, and I honestly had a great off-season. But the skating I was doing wasn’t reflecting how I was skating in practice. I was just really getting nervous when I got out there.” “My coaches helped me so much through the process. They were really supportive, even through a difficult month and a half. And without them, I don’t think I would have been able to skate like that today and to skate the free skate that I had at Skate Canada.” “Also, I want to give a shout-out to my dog. He was very supportive — he just snuggles, you know.” 🐶 “Also, a big support are always my parents. They are really chill. If I told them I wanted to quit skating tomorrow, they would be supportive of that choice. They really just want to see me happy and to see me like what I’m doing.” “I’m from a really big family, everyone is always supportive and wants to see me happy. Or when we decide which Challenger we do, we say we want to go to Warsaw. Until the end of our career, hopefully we will be, like, 10 times champions of Warsaw Cup. So you will continue to see us for a long time here. (on coming to Poland straight from Skate America) That was intense. But we’re not thinking about it because we probably go to the Olympics now, it’s kind of sure, and we have a team event and right away a competition, like back to back.
