First 2-woman Bobsleigh World Cup victory since January 2022 for the two-time Olympic Champion: Kaillie Armbruster Humphries, 2-woman Bobsleigh Olympic Champion in 2010 and 2014 and four-time World Champion, celebrated her first victory in the race series in almost three years at the fourth IBSF World Cup in the Olympic winter. With brakewoman Emily Renna, Armbruster Humphries relegated Lisa Buckwitz / Lauryn Siebert (0.27 seconds behind) to second place in Sigulda 🇱🇻. In the first run, Buckwitz / Siebert improved the five-year-old start record in Sigulda, set at the time by their teammates Laura Nolte / Deborah Levi, to 5.18 seconds. ✨ World Champion and defending World Cup title holder Laura Nolte (0.28 seconds behind) took third place with her brakewoman Leonie Kluwig, just one hundredth of a second behind. The second US duo, Elana Meyers Taylor / Jadin O'Brien, missed out on their first World Cup podium finish in the Olympic winter by a mere two hundredths of a second, finishing fourth. Second consecutive victory for skeleton athlete Kim Meylemans: In Sigulda 🇱🇻, the Belgian thus celebrated her fourth podium finish in the fourth race of the Olympic winter. Kim Meylemans is also the anniversary winner of the Women's Skeleton World Cup: The IBSF World Cup in Sigulda on 19 December marked the 200th anniversary race for female skeleton athletes. ✨ Anna Fernstaedt (0.08 seconds behind) celebrated second place and her second podium finish for Czechia in Sigulda. Amelia Coltman (0.14 seconds behind) came third. World Cup title defender Janine Flock, who was in the lead after the first World Cup run in Sigulda, fell just short of the podium places in the final and finished fourth ahead of Olympic Champion Hannah Neise and Britain's Freya Tarbit in fifth and sixth place.
