Sustainability in High molecular weight polyisobutylene production and applications is gaining importance. Recycling of HMPIB-based products remains challenging, but research into chemical recycling, synthetic rubber additive, high performance elastomer, polyisobutylene polymer, fuel and lubricant additive, adhesive and sealant ingredient and repurposing is underway.
