Families with children admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Jinnah Hospital often spend days or weeks at the facility. Many come from low-income backgrounds and struggle to afford daily meals while caring for their loved ones. Understanding their emotional and financial pressure, Dr. Ahmed’s foundation launched a free meal distribution program at the hospital.

300 Freshly Prepared Meals Distributed

The team distributed 300 hot meal boxes, each containing biryani and bottled water. Volunteers personally delivered the meals to parents and guardians, ensuring they received them with respect and kindness.

Anosh Ahmed shared that the purpose of this project is to offer comfort to families facing extremely stressful moments. According to him, “Even a small act of kindness can give strength and hope during difficult times.” The meal distribution brought relief to dozens of families and highlighted the foundation’s commitment to supporting patients and caregivers alike.

Improving Water Access in Communities Facing Scarcity

Long-Term Solution for Water Shortages

Water scarcity is one of Karachi’s most pressing challenges, especially in neighborhoods where residents rely on irregular water supply or expensive tanker services. To tackle this issue, the foundation installed two submersible water pumps in underserved areas. The project, costing PKR 650,000, is expected to benefit over 200 residents every day.

The first pump was installed in Sector 11-H, North Karachi, serving a Christian community near Saint Joseph Church. The second pump was set up in Al-Madina Colony, Orangi Town, a Muslim-majority area where families have long struggled with unreliable water access.

Each installation includes:

• A 350-foot-deep bore

• A 1,000-liter water storage tank

• Professional plumbing and durable equipment

• Long-term maintenance planning

The foundation emphasized that the initiative was carried out without discrimination. A representative explained that clean water is a basic human right, and communities of every background deserve access to it. This project not only solves daily water challenges but also promotes dignity, equality, and improved health.

Food Ration Distribution in Orangi Town and Soldier Bazaar

Supporting Households With One-Month Food Supplies

Food insecurity affects many low-income families in Karachi. Rising inflation has made it even more difficult for households to afford essential grocery items. To provide relief, the foundation distributed 200 ration bags across two diverse neighborhoods — Orangi Town and Soldier Bazaar.

Each ration bag contained everyday necessities, including:

• Flour

• Rice

• Lentils

• Cooking oil

• Tea

• Sugar

These items were selected to support a household’s basic food needs for an entire month. The initiative helped families manage their expenses and ensured they had access to nutritious meals.

Equal Support for All Communities

Volunteers worked on-site to manage the distribution process smoothly and fairly. Both Christian and Muslim households received equal support, highlighting the foundation’s belief in unity and inclusivity.
