WWW.FOXSPORTS.COMNFL Draft Rumors: Simpson a 1st-Rounder? What Will Giants Do? What Glazer is HearingAlabama quarterback Ty Simpson has a strong chance of knowing where he'll end up in the NFL on Thursday night, the Philadelphia Eagles continue to ask teams to pay a premium price for A.J. Brown and the New York Giants are in love with a top wide receiver prosect in the 2026 NFL Draft. Those are just a few of the things FOX Sports NFL insider Jay Glazer is hearing on the eve of draft night. Appearing on FS1's "Wake Up Barstool" on Wednesday, Glazer shared a few pieces of intel on what to expect on Thursday night and potentially in the coming weeks. Here's a bit more on what Glazer's hearing from around the NFL. Ty Simpson will be a first-round pick Not only have there been questions about how early Simpson could be selected on Thursday night, but there may now be some clarity. Glazer is confident that Simpson will come off the board in the first round. Some potential landing spots for Simpson in the first round include the New York Jets at No. 16, the Pittsburgh Steelers at No. 21, or a team looking to trade back into the late first round. One team Glazer specifically mentioned as a possibility is the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals are unlikely to select Simpson with the No. 3 overall pick, but a trade up from No. 34 is a more realistic scenario. Moving into the back end of the round would also allow them to secure a fifth-year option, which often motivates teams to trade up on draft night. Simpson is coming off just one season as a starter at Alabama after spending two years behind Jalen Milroe in Tuscaloosa. He put together a strong junior season, completing 64.5% of his passes for 3,567 yards, 28 touchdowns, and five interceptions. All signs point to Simpson being one of the more intriguing quarterback selections on draft night as teams weigh his upside against his limited starting experience. Eagles holding firm on high asking price for A.J. Brown trade The A.J. Brown saga has been one of the defining offseason storylines, and while a post-June 1 trade to the New England Patriots has been expected, questions remain about the return. Glazer still believes the Eagles are holding firm on their demand for a first-round pick in any deal. "The Eagles are still looking for a first-round pick," Glazer said. "I know the Patriots arent there yet." Brown, 28, is under contract through the 2029 season and is coming off his least productive year since 2021 with the Tennessee Titans. He finished the season with 78 receptions for 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns, including seven games in which he was held under 50 yards. The Los Angeles Rams and Patriots have been the two teams most closely linked to Brown, but all signs point toward him ultimately being dealt to New England, potentially as early as this summer. As talks continue, the final price tag and timing of any deal will likely depend on whether New England is willing to meet Philadelphias steep asking price. Both sides appear positioned for a standoff that could stretch deeper into the offseason as the draft approaches. What will Giants do with their two top-10 picks? The New York Giants have been heavily connected to Ohio State safety Caleb Downs in recent days, but Glazer is not sold on him going No. 5 overall. The player he continues to hear is high on the Giants board is Arizona State wide receiver, Jordyn Tyson. "I dont know if Im sold on that one as everyone else," Glazer said on Downs going No. 5 overall. "I think youre looking at the offensive line or wide receiver and I do know they kind of haven't hidden their love of the wide receiver from Arizona State." After trading defensive lineman Dexter Lawrence for the No. 10 overall pick, the Giants now own two selections inside the top 10. That gives them added flexibility to address multiple roster needs on both sides of the ball, if they choose to. "I dont know if five is too high, maybe 10," Glazer said of Tyson. "People love him, but hes just been hurt a lot. But they think he is so dynamic." Tyson finally found his footing with the Sun Devils after transferring from Colorado, but injury concerns have followed him throughout the draft process. Hes battled multiple injuries during his college career, but has performed well when available. Last season with the Sun Devils, Tyson played in nine games, finishing with 61 receptions for 711 yards and eight touchdowns. With two picks inside the top 10, the Giants are positioned to be one of the most active and unpredictable teams early in the draft.0 Σχόλια 0 Μοιράστηκε 25 Views 0 Προεπισκόπηση -

SPORTS.YAHOO.COMNFL Draft Weather Forecast: Rain Could Dampen Pittsburgh Friday, SaturdayAP Photo/Gene J. PuskarThe 2026 NFL Draft is in Pittsburgh, and while we aren't forecasting a major storm, the weather could be a nuisance for at least part of the festivities. This annual event, where players who have finished their college careers are selected by NFL teams, will span three days from Thursday through Saturday. The NFL is expecting hundreds of thousands of visitors for the draft, as well as various festivities around Acrisure Field and the city of Pittsburgh. The Forecast- Thursday night (round 1): Expect partly cloudy skies, pleasant temperatures dropping from the low 70s to the upper 60s and light winds for the draft's biggest night.- Friday night (rounds 2-3): There is a chance of showers Friday evening. Temperatures once again are expected to be in the 70s or upper 60s with generally light winds. - Saturday afternoon (rounds 4-7): Rain showers appear likely with temperatures holding in the 60s.Can Weather Affect The Draft? The NFL Draft will go on rain or shine. The draft theater, including the platform where the players will walk on stage, has a large overhang that will keep fans with access to the theater dry. However, most fans attending the festivities around the draft called the NFL Draft Experience won't have protective cover if it rains. The NFL and the city does have a plan in case of severe weather.According to the NFL, "Only in the case of extreme weather that threatens public safety will the event potentially be postponed."Any announcement of postponement due to weather would be pushed out to attending fans via the NFL OnePass app and also announced over the on-site public address system. AP Photo/Gene J. PuskarPast Draft RainSince 2015, the NFL has moved the draft to different cities around the country, with festivities outdoors. The weather has been mostly cooperative, with a few small exceptions. Last year, a thunderstorm on the Wednesday before the draft in Green Bay briefly delayed some pre-draft events and interviews in the morning. Then, some chilly light rain fell over Day 2 of the draft. In 2021, over an inch and a half of rain soaked Cleveland on the first day of the draft. In 2019, showers moved into downtown Nashville during the first round Thursday evening. In 2016, light rain and high temperatures only near 50 degrees were a nuisance for outdoor festivities at Grant Park in Chicago.AP Photo/Steve HelberJonathan Erdman is a senior meteorologist at weather.com and has been covering national and international weather since 1996. WWW.FOXSPORTS.COMSeahawks 7-Round Mock Draft: Defending Champs Find Kenneth Walker ReplacementSeattle Seahawks general manager John Schneider has built two Super Bowl-winning teams through the draft as he enters his 17th season at the helm. Can Schneider bring a third Lombardi Trophy to Seattle by building through the draft? Well, the 2026 draft will bring some obstacles to the Seahawks as they look to add to the roster that just won it all. As the defending champs, the Seahawks won't be on the clock until pick No. 32. They also have just four selections in this year's draft. If Seattle stays with just those picks, it would be the fewest number of selections the Seahawks have taken since the 2021 draft, when they only made three picks. So, it's not a surprise that Schneider made his intention to trade back clear when he spoke with reporters this week. "It's no secret with us, guys," Schneider said. "We have four picks, so we'll be looking to move back. People are usually understanding that I think we tend to trend backwards, trade back." Scheider is also looking forward to next years draft, which is expected to be a stronger class. Seattle is projected to have four compensatory picks in 2027 due to the lost players in free agency. Including those projected selections, the Seahawks areexpected to have 12 picks in 2027. But as Schneider navigates having very few picks in a draft class that hasn't been highly-touted, the Seahawks have done a nice job at finding diamonds in the rough during his tenure. Schneider has signed the likes of Doug Baldwin, Jermaine Kearse, DeShawn Shead and Jake Bobo as undrafted free agents. The Seahawks have had 32 undrafted rookies make the teams opening day roster since 2010, which was Schneider's first season running Seattle's football operations. But before we can look at which potential undrafted free-agent standout Schneider might sign next, let's determine what the Seahawks should do in the draft with this seven-round mock, should they stay put and make each pick. That said, lets take a closer look at Seattles seven-round mock draft, should they stay put and make each pick. Round 1 (No. 32 overall): Brandon Cisse, CB, South Carolina Did I mention the Seahawks want to trade out of this pick? Moving out of the first round by making a deal with the Arizona Cardinals would make a lot of sense for both teams, as I predicted earlier this week. Such a move would allow the Cardinals to potentially get Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson and have him for an extra year of team control with the fifth-year option. And for the Seahawks, they would get more draft picks, of course. "Its the pick that everybody wants," Schneider said. "Youre blessed enough to win the Super Bowl, right? (And youve got) the fifth-year option right there." If the Seahawks do not trade down, adding another talented defensive back to a group that lost safety Coby Bryant and cornerback Tariq Woolen in free agency makes sense. Both Schneider and head coach Mike Macdonald emphasized connectivity and knowing the type of player they are adding to their culture. And obviously, the Seahawks want to add talented guys who can play. Cisse checks all those boxes. He has the measurables Seattle usually covets at corner. At 6 feet and 189 pounds, Cisse ran a 4.41 40 time at his pro day, so he has plenty of speed to develop into a cover corner at the next level on the perimeter. Cisse also has a relationship with Seattle safety Nick Emmanwori, even though their tenures at South Carolina didn't overlap. Cisse said he played 7-on-7 in high school with Emmanwori and attended Seattles NFC Championship victory over the Los Angeles Rams. Round 2 (No. 64 overall): Mike Washington Jr., RB, Arkansas The second round has been a sweet spot for drafting running backs during Schneiders tenure. Zach Charbonnet, Kenneth Walker III and Christine Michael were taken in the second round. The Seahawks also selected Rashaad Penny late in the first round at No. 27 overall in the 2018 draft. At 6-1 and 223 pounds, Washington is a big back with elite speed. He led all running backs with a 4.33 40 time at the NFL Scouting Combine. With Walker leaving in free agency, the Seahawks need another home-run hitter who can score from anywhere on the field. Washingtons 16 rushing touchdowns over the last two years provide evidence that he can develop into that player at the next level. Round 3 (No. 96 overall): Romello Height, DE, Texas Tech Heights teammate David Bailey understandably got the lions share of attention, leading college football with 14.5 sacks last season. However, Height put up decent numbers as well, finishing with 9.5 sacks in his final season at Texas Tech. The Seahawks need more pass-rush help after losing Boye Mafe to the Cincinnati Bengals in free agency. At 6-3 and 240 pounds, Height could struggle to set the edge in the running game. However, Macdonald could put his speed to use as a pass rush specialist in obvious pass situations. Round 6 (No. 188 overall): Andre Fuller, CB, Toledo A longtime NFL Scout told me Fuller is one of the most underrated players in this years draft. At 6-1 and 200 pounds, Fuller fits the traditional profile of a rangy corner the Seahawks like to use on the perimeter defensively. He showed decent speed, running a 4.49-second 40-yard time at the combine. Fuller also played safety at Toledo, and that versatility could come in handy for the Seahawks, who need more athletic bodies in the secondary.0 Σχόλια 0 Μοιράστηκε 31 Views 0 Προεπισκόπηση
