SPORTS.YAHOO.COMMichigan football's 2027 class earns high ESPN praiseOften, when it comes to Michigan football recruiting, ESPN has tended to be the outlier, with the worldwide leader often not having given much thought to who the Wolverines are bringing in. Whether the players that the maize and blue had targeted any given year were either underscouted or not well thought of is unclear, but such is not the case for Michigan in the 2027 recruiting cycle.Usually, ESPN is the lowest on the players that the Wolverines bring in. More often than not, in this cycle, the opposite is true. While ESPN doesn't do constant team rankings as do Rivals and 247Sports, once it does, you'd have to expect that Michigan will be ranked rather high. Here are the committed Wolverines that are listed in the ESPN 300, by ranking:Salt Lake City (West) four-star QB Kamden Lopati (No. 46 overall)Chicago (Ill.) Mount Carmel four-star WR Quentin Burrell (No. 57 overall)Jackson (Miss.) Brandon four-star RB Tyson Robinson (No. 114 overall)Gatineau (Quebec) Brook Hill four-star IOL Sidney Rouleau (No. 123 overall)Houston (Tx.) South four-star DL Xavier Muhammad (No. 132 overall)Muskegon (Mich.) four-star EDGE Recarder Kitchen (No. 152 overall)Kalamazoo (Mich.) Loy Norrix four-star OT Jakari Lipsey (No. 265 overall)Only edge rusher Jayce Brewer, offensive lineman Louis Esposito, and safeties Charles Woodson Jr. and Maxwell Miles don't have a numerical ranking via ESPN. Lopati, Burrell, Robinson, and Rouleau each have their highest rating on ESPN, whereas 247Sports is highest on Lipsey and Kitchen, while Rivals is highest on Muhammad and Brewer.Michigan doesn't have the most ESPN 300 recruits committed, but it's up there. Texas A&M and Oklahoma lead with 11, Notre Dame has 10, Texas Tech and USC each have eight, Michigan has seven, along with Miami, Oregon, and Florida, Ohio State has six, while Alabama, Texas, LSU, and Ole Miss each have four. This article originally appeared on Wolverines Wire: ESPN highest on some recent Michigan football commits0 Комментарии 0 Поделились 66 Просмотры 0 предпросмотр

SPORTS.YAHOO.COMMan City still dream of Premier League glory after FA Cup win: SilvaManchester City players celebrate beating Chelsea 1-0 to win the FA Cup at Wembley (Adrian Dennis)Bernardo Silva said Manchester City still had a "small dream" of winning the Premier League after beating Chelsea 1-0 in Saturday's FA Cup final to seal a domestic cup double.Antoine Semenyo scored the only goal of a largely disappointing game at Wembley, producing a moment of magic in the 72nd minute to unlock the Chelsea defence.Erling Haaland, who worked hard all game with little reward, crossed for Semenyo, who produced a brilliant right-foot flicked finish across Chelsea keeper Robert Sanchez. The long-serving Silva, leaving City at the end of the season, said he was delighted to add another trophy to his huge collection since arriving at the Etihad in 2017."Very special. I am really happy. Everything about my journey here at Man City was fantastic," the City captain told the BBC."Hopefully we can still have a small dream that we can fight for the Premier League."Today we are very happy. It is just special for me, being my last season to give them another trophy. Hopefully, not the last one."City, who won the League Cup in March, trail Premier League leaders Arsenal by two points with two games to go.The Gunners host relegated Burnley on Monday while City travel to Bournemouth the following day.Portugal midfielder Silva, 31, hailed City manager Pep Guardiola's influence on his career, saying he had "changed the way" he saw football."Eighty percent of my career was with him as my manager," he said. "All the things I hoped to achieve were with him."The relationship we have got is very strong with the frustrations and the achievements. I care a lot about Man City."Match-winner Semenyo, who joined the club from Bournemouth in January, said celebrations would be muted with the Premier League still on the line."I have never competed for trophies like this before, so everything is new to me," he said. "Hopefully, we can finish the job off."It is a good finish, I can't lie. As a kid I have always wanted to be playing for the top teams -- it took a long time to get there, but I am grateful."The first thing he (Guardiola) said to me when I came was 'don't change your game'. He knows we control the game a lot, he still wants me to be me, still create a bit of chaos."I don't think there will be many celebrations tonight -- it is getting ready for Tuesday."jw/jc0 Комментарии 0 Поделились 45 Просмотры 0 предпросмотр
