Tennis great Serena Williams, who retired in 2022, has been awarded a wildcard for the Wimbledon grass court championships starting in a week.

The announcement comes just weeks after Williams made her official comeback to tennis - four years after her last professional match - at the Queen's Club's HSBC Championships.

He placed the bag down just inside the ropes and removed his caddie bib and handed it to Joe, who put it on.According to the NBC broadcast, Miles Russell asked a USGA rules official in the morning if he would be allowed to make the switch and was given permission. Joe Russell was not aware of the plan.Miles Russell smiled widely as his father caught up to him and they walked up to the green.Russell tapped in for par to finish off an even-par 70 in the final round. After becoming the second-youngest male amateur since World War II to play the weekend at the U.S. Open, he finished at 7 over for the tournament while being paired the final two rounds with fellow amateur Jackson Koivun, who led Auburn to two NCAA championships and is about to turn pro.It was a pretty special week, Russell said. Several New Jersey swimming areas remain under scrutiny after water testing found elevated levels of fecal bacteria at recreational water sites across the state.As of June 21, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) listed swimming advisories at five coastal locations in Ocean and Cape May counties.The advisories were triggered by elevated levels of enterococci, bacteria commonly used to measure water quality at recreational swimming sites.POPULAR BEACHES CLOSED AS HIGH BACTERIA LEVELS RAISE HEALTH CONCERNS FOR SWIMMERSThe coastal advisories include Cedar Point Beach and Beachwood Beach West in Ocean County, as well as Wildwood and Bay, Baywyn and Bay, and Ferry and Bay in Lower Township, Cape May County, the department noted.Water testing at New Jerseys public recreational bathing beaches is carried out regularly by the DEP, working with the New Jersey Department of Health and local health officials.State standards allow no more than 104 enterococci colonies per 100 milliliters of sampled water. Lamine Yamal has arrived on the FIFA World Cup stage. Spain's superstar winger, who turns 19 next month, scored a goal in the 10th minute of his country's 4-0 Group H victory over Saudi Arabia on Sunday. It was Yamal's first career World Cup goal in what was also his first World Cup start and second appearance in the tournament altogether. Yamal came off the bench in Spain's shock June 15 draw against Cape Verde, as he was dealing with a hamstring injury. While he only played one half against Saudi Arabia for the same reason, it was all that Spain needed from him.
