SPORTS.YAHOO.COMMSU basketball listed in top 10 of latest preseason rankings from national analystThere has been recent shifting of rosters and coaching staffs in college basketball, but one thing has remained certain: Jon Rothstein has Michigan State as a top 10 team entering next year.Rothstein has released a new batch of early preseason rankings for next season and he still has Michigan State listed near the top of his rankings. As of now, Rothstein has the Spartans sitting at No. 6 in his rankings. The lone five teams ranked ahead of the Spartans are Florida (No. 1), Duke (No. 2), Illinois (No. 3), Michigan (No. 4) and UConn (No. 5). WWW.FOXSPORTS.COMChris 'The Bear' Fallica's World Cup Best Bets Today Match Day 16"Bear Bets" are real wagers that Chris "The Bear" Fallica is actually making. One of the blockbuster matches of the tournament is set to take place today, with Norway facing France. Here is what Im eyeing ahead of Match Day 16. This page may contain affiliate links to legal sports betting partners. If you sign up or place a wager, FOX Sports may be compensated. Read more about Sports Betting on FOX Sports. World Cup Best Bets Friday, June 26 Norway vs. France Norway conceded twice against Senegal and once against Iraq. France should really be able to score three if it desires. The winner wins the group and even Erving Haaland quipped the other day, "Theyll probably beat us." Ill take his word for it. Senegal vs. Iraq It has been a disappointing run so far for Senegal, but most likely a big win here will put it on three points and say a GD of -1 or even. And that should be good enough to get Senegal through. Iraq is the side you want to face when you need a big win. Uruguay vs. Spain Uruguay has butchered this World Cup. It has nobody out there who can finish. It couldnt hold a 2-1 lead vs. Cape Verde and couldnt get the second goal against one of the worst teams in the competition in Saudi Arabia. Now, Uruguay must beat Spain to advance. Good luck with that. I mean, theres a non-zero chance Uruguay could win, as Spain have certainly thrown some clunkers in group play of major tourneys. This match could go so many ways, but I think the safest way to play it is Spain team total Over 1.5. Uruguay needs to win and that could leave it vulnerable to Spain countering. Cape Verde vs. Saudi Arabia A second-place finish is on the table for both sides depending on the result of Spain-Uruguay. Clearly, from watching both sides' first two matches, Cape Verde looks to be the better squad, and Ill grab the nice plus price on it to get the win and continue this magical ride. Belgium vs. New Zealand There have been a few candidates for the most disappointing or overrated side in this World Cup. Take your pick of word, but Belgium applies to both. Two lackluster draws vs. Egypt and Iran have taken winning the group out of Belgium's hands. On the bright side, star winger Jeremy Doku has returned to the team, which should help. If Belgium can't score on New Zealand, something is seriously wrong. Egypt vs. Iran Everything to play for here. Depending on results, any of Egypt, Iran or Belgium could win the group. This has both teams to score written all over it.0 Comentários 0 Compartilhamentos 226 Visualizações 0 Anterior -

He will still be the WR4 in 2026, but if the team moves on from Chris Godwin at any point, he could be the next one to likely step up. For 2026, though, Hurst is someone who shouldn't be heavily invested in until an injury forces him up the depth chart. SPORTS.YAHOO.COMAlabama teen sets new course, tournament record at Northeast AmateurEASTPROVIDENCE Tyler Watts now stands alone in Northeast Amateur history.Professional golfers who went on to capture multiple major championshipscouldntdo it. Others whoascended tothe worlds No. 1 rankingalsofell short.Ben Crenshaw, Curtis Strange,Scottie Scheffler,David Duval, Dustin Johnson, Collin Morikawaand so many more none haveaccomplishedwhat Watts achieved Friday afternoon in this 64th edition atWannamoisettCountry Club. The teenage left-hander from Alabama set new course and tournament records with a 9-under 60, a number that lowered thepreviousmarks by one shot. Watts clinched his milestone on Thursday, June 25, with a birdie at the par-418th, his final stroke under bright sunshine after collecting sevenpreviousbirdies and an eagle.Ivealways loved this golf course, Watts said. Itdefinitely holdsa much more special place in my heart now because of todays round.Itkind of goesback to what we were saying there have been so manygreat playerswho have played here and postedreally goodrounds. For me to say thatIvehad the best is a true honor.Watts hit a precise lob wedge into the last green and had just a slippery 4-footerfrom above the hole remainingto take his place in immortality. The crowd that gathered saw Watts knock home the putt and share a hug with his father, Rick, who is on his bag this week.It was the end ofa daywhere Watts erased a three-putt bogey at the sixth partly thanks to lengthy putts for birdie at the par-4 11th, and eagle at the par-517th.I hit the ballamazingyesterday, Watts said. My putterdidntget too hot. I knew I could really post a low round with the way I was hitting the ball if my putter started to cooperate.Watts now holds a four-shot lead on the fieldthroughtwo days at 12-under, following his opening 66 with something superb. Willy Walsh and Carson Bertagnole sit tied for second at 8-under, and Bertagnole is now one of four players whoresidejust below Watts in course record books. His opening 61 on Wednesday was the fourth shot here, as he joined Luke Guthrie (2011), Karl Vilups (2019) and 2025 winner Preston Stout.Ive got to keep doing what Im doing, Watts said. Ivebeen putting in a lot ofhard work. I thinkthatswhat led me to shooting areally goodround today.View this post on InstagramWalsh entered two shots behind Bertagnole following his afternoon 63 on Wednesday, and he added a tidy 67. Bertagnole grinded to a 70 that included a bogey and nine pars over his final 10 holes, as he dropped a shot at the par-4 seventh. ThefreshmanAll-American at North Carolinacouldntsummon the touch on the greens that led him to abreakthrough opening effort here. You kind of have to stay whereyourefeet are, Bertagnole said. Youreprobably notgoing to (shoot61)thatagain. That wasdefinitely whatI needed to do in the beginning, and I held my groundpretty well.Bertagnolewitnessedone of the days highlights from playing partner Logan Reilly, who used an ace at the par-3 15thas part of his charge into contention. Reilly drilled a 5-iron to the uphill green that landed some 20 feet short of the hole location in the back left. He watched as the ball rolled forward and disappeared, his first hole-in-one in tournament play and the second of his career.Carson went crazy, Reilly said. There were a bunch of people up around the green who got loud. That was a good feeling. That was part of a stretch that saw Reilly play five holes in 5-under, and the two-time team national champion with Auburn eventually signed for a 64. That followed his opening even-par 69 andlanded him in a six-way tie for seventh placeat 5-under. Jay Leng Jr. used an early 64 to move intosolofourth place at 7-under while Gerardo Gomez and Ryan Ford bothmade it two straight days in red numbers whileclosing tied for fifth at 6-under.Im giving myselfchances a lot of timesin the round, Reilly said. I just need to convert. Today I made a couple of those 10-footers, which were nice.Moderate morning conditions in terms of wind and temperature allowed multiple players to climb the leaderboard. None made a bigger move than Vanderbilt standout Jon Ed Steed, who closed one off theoldcourse record while firing a 7-under 62. Steed improved by 15 shots from his opening 77 and is now comfortably inside the cutline entering Fridays third round.I kind of got away from myroutineswhen I left Nashville, Steed said. Itdefinitely showedyesterday. I stuck to the process yesterday after the round and really kept it light today. It was also a good day for some of the premier Mid-Amateurs in the field. Five-time Rhode Island Amateur champion Bobby Leopold carded an early 66 to bring him back to even-par for the tournament and reigning Rhode Island Amateur champion Mike Calef fired a67while pulling closer to the potential cutline. Atlanta native Hayes Brown betteredboth of them, jumping into the top 10 thanks to his 6-under 63.This wasnt even on my radar, Brown said. Just being invited is an incredible accomplishment.Imhappy to play well, show up, not embarrass myself and see what happens.bkoch@providencejournal.comOnX: @BillKoch25This article originally appeared on The Providence Journal: Alabama teen Tyler Watts sets new Northeast Amateur gold records0 Comentários 0 Compartilhamentos 235 Visualizações 0 Anterior
