Chris 'The Bear' Fallica's World Cup Best Bets Today Spain vs. France
"Bear Bets" are real wagers that Chris "The Bear" Fallica is actually making. We have four matches left in the 2026 World Cup, beginning with the first semifinal on Tuesday, featuring powerhouses Spain and France. Let's be sure to enjoy the final week of this outstanding tournament, and hopefully, make some money in the process. Here's how I'm wagering on Match Day 31, the first day of the semifinals. This page may contain affiliate links to legal sports betting partners. If you sign up or place a wager, FOX Sports may be compensated. Read more about Sports Betting on FOX Sports. World Cup Best Bets Tuesday, July 14 Spain vs. France Those expecting a repeat of the 5-4 Nations League match last year are probably going to be disappointed. Id expect Spain to have much of the ball again, especially in the first half, as an early France goal would be the one thing that could open this game up. But with the stakes as high as they are, expect caution, at least early on. Then, when those rare opportunities present themselves, that's when a likely winner can be had. But this looks like a dead Under and likely first-half draw.

Schwarber advances in Home Run Derby, along with Contreras, Walker, Caminero
PHILADELPHIA (AP) Kyle Schwarber kept his bid for a Home Run Derby title in his home park alive when the Phillies' slugger and major league home run leader hit 10 in the first round and advanced with Boston's Willson Contreras, St. Louis' Jordan Walker and Tampa Bay's Junior Caminero to the next round Monday night.Bryce Harper hit only eight home runs and was the final slugger of the round to try and advance. He provided a late jolt with Phillies fans at Citizens Bank Park going wild trying to will Harper into one more round.Harper won in 2018 in Washington when he played for the Nationals.Kansas City's Jac Caglianone and New York Yankees slugger Ben Rice also failed to advance. Contreras and Walker each hit 13, and Caminero had 12.Schwarber failed to launch one of his famed Schwarbombs until his sixth swing, then connected on his seventh, eighth and ninth in a four-homer stretch that harkened back to his four-homer game last season again Atlanta. He could only watch as Harper failed to join him. Schwarber, then with the Chicago Cubs, made the finals in 2018 at Nationals Park before losing to Harper.Bittersweet, Schwarber said after the first round Monday. I wanted both of us to move on.MLB ditched the timed clock this season and returned to a swing format, with each hitter continuing to swing if he went deep on his final one. Each player had 20 swings in the first round and the top four advanced. Hitters were seeded for the second round, where No. 1 faces 4 and 2 meets 3. Each player takes 15 swings in the second round, with batters homering on their final swings continuing until not homering.Schwarber and Harper the first pair of teammates to participate in the Derby since 2018 received roaring ovations when famed ring announcer Michael Buffer introduced them ahead of the competition. As for the other six sluggers in the field, all wearing their home jerseys with red, white and blue uniform numbers?Yeah, they were about booed out of the ballpark, with the loudest jeers saved for Rice. He gamely laughed as he walked out of his Liberty Bell entrance.Harper who said earlier Monday this would be his last Derby waved his arms and exhorted the crowd to get louder as he walked to the home plate platform placed at second base. Harper about broke the ring ropes as he shook them like a pro wrestler, and the Philly crowd went bonkers for the star known as The Showman. The ball-shagging kids in the outfield were even booed. The Derby's public address announcer implored the fans to cheer during some quiet stretches when homers non-Phillies edition were hit. The fans did get a rise when Caglianone smoked one into Ryan Howard territory into the third deck in right field. Contreras socked 'em into the rarified air of the left field upper deck. One homered cleared the last row of stands in that section and bounced off the concourse in front of a bar. His 490-footer was the longest of the first round.Caminero last year's runner-up to Seattle's Cal Raleigh watched stunned as his final swing just hooked foul in left field and stuck his homer total at 12.The longest Derby homer since Statcast started tracking in 2016 was 520 feet by Juan Soto in the mile-high air of Denvers Coors Field in 2021.This was the first Home Run Derby and All-Star Game held at Citizens Bank Park since it opened in 2004 and the first derby in Philadelphia since Barry Bonds outslugged Mark McGwire in 1996 to win an afternoon event in front of thousands of empty seats at Veterans Stadium. This derby was sold out and aired on Netflix for the first time, with the streamer getting into the game this season with a three-event package. Netflix already aired the opening night game, and the third attraction is the Field of Dreams game between the Minnesota Twins and Philadelphia Phillies on Aug. 13.___AP MLB: https://apnews.com/hub/mlb

Ken Griffey Jr. Reveals The All-Stars He Likes To Watch, How He Stays Close To The Game
Some of the games top sluggers will step to the plate Monday night at the Home Run Derby in Philadelphia, but no one in the competition has hit as many home runs as one of the photographers who will be shooting the event. Ken Griffey Jr., one of nine Major League Baseball players in the 600-homer club and the only three-time winner of the Home Run Derby, is a man of many talents and interests. The Hall of Famer is a part owner and special consultant for the Seattle Mariners. He has served as a senior advisor to Commissioner Rob Manfred since 2001, focusing on youth baseball development. Hes also a pilot who has logged 700 hours of flight time. Most recently, though, you might have seen him at some of sports most prestigious events from the World Series to the Indianapolis 500 to The Masters and more not as a fan, but as a credentialed photographer. Earlier this year, Griffey was a global ambassador for the World Baseball Classic and also shot the international event. This week, hell be back behind the camera again. Griffey, who is also Deer Park Spring Waters "CEO of H20," helped unveil a mural on Saturday by Philadelphia-based artist Paul Carpenter, in partnership with the official water of Major League Baseball. Two days later, he will be photographing the Home Run Derby on Monday night at Citizens Bank Park. Before the All-Star week festivities began, I caught up with the 13-time All-Star and Mariners legend on a rainy Saturday in Philadelphia to talk about his photography journey, his thoughts on the state of the game, the players he enjoys watching most and more. (Note: Some questions and answers have been edited for brevity and clarity.) Sorry the weather in Philadelphia doesnt seem to be cooperating this weekend. Ken Griffey Jr:Well, everybody wants to get involved in water. Even the man upstairs. Can you share what youre doing on Saturday with Deer Park? Griffey:Right now, were getting ready, hopefully when the weather subsides, to showcase this mural thats on the side of a building. It represents the All-Star Game and the city of Philadelphia and all the things they have to offer. Lately, I imagine youre recognized a lot with a camera in your hand, whether its at The Masters or during MLB All-Star week. Can you share how you got into photography and your favorite sport or event youve gotten to shoot? Griffey:Ive been fortunate enough to do quite a few things, Masters being one. Ryder Cup, Indianapolis 500, All-Star Game, World Series, football games. So, Im all over the map. Im just trying to learn as much as possible over the course of my photography career. But how I got started was my daughter stopped dribbling a basketball at age 5 and looked at me and asked me if I was paying attention to the game. Its just because people see me and want to talk. And she was just like, "No, I want my dad to watch me like everybody elses kid." And it became a passion from there? Griffey:It started out as a way to really focus in on the kids, and all of a sudden one camera turned into two, two turned into four, one lens turned into like 15 and having a studio, pretty much, at my house. My wife asks me if Im going into business because it looks like we have a camera shop sometimes hard drives and programs and DVDs on the events that I want to shoot and what settings. It was a lot in a short time. But I try to do something every couple years to stay out of my comfort zone. Ive gone from scuba diving to learning how to fly a plane. How often are you flying planes? Griffey:Im right around 700 hours. With everything youre doing a special consultant for the Mariners, an MLB senior advisor and youth ambassador what does a normal day look like for you? How do you manage your time? Griffey:The first couple years it was like, "Oh, did I bite off more than I can chew?" But as I got into it, its been pretty easy. Couple meetings here and there, flying into certain cities to have the owners meetings and things like that. Its good. They know my schedule is hectic sometimes, especially July, because its All-Star Game, the Hank Aaron Invitational in Vero [Beach] and the Hall of Fame after that. What will you be shooting this week? Griffey:Im going to do the Home Run Derby. And then, like everybody else, I will watch the All-Star Game. Theres so many eyes and ears, and I understand that I am a freelance guy, and there are certain outlets that need their stuff. So, Ill leave that sometimes to the big guys to do their job, but I still sit close enough where I can get some tips and ask questions. I imagine you command plenty of attention when you have a camera down there. Griffey:Well, my biggest thing is, if youre not learning, youre not trying. So, I try to ask certain questions to try to help me elevate my photography skills. There are a lot of guys out there that I lean on to get it done. Are you better than your old teammate Randy Johnson? I think thats the question everyone really wants to know. Griffey:Nah, Randy started out in high school. Im on 20 years, and hes on 40. But I do lean on Randy quite a bit, especially my first trip to Africa. I know that hes gone quite a few times. He sent me a picture of all the stuff he brings, and the clothing, what I should wear. Gave me the guides and stuff like that. So, hes helped out tremendously throughout this whole journey. To turn it to baseball, with Shohei Ohtani just now getting to 300 homers, I think it puts into perspective how unbelievable 600 is. Do you think anyone else gets there? Griffey:Hes had an unbelievable run. I dont judge anybody, I just want baseball to be elevated, and I know that hes one of the guys doing it, and its fun to watch. There are a lot of guys that are must-see TV when theyre at the plate. When hes on the mound, its must-see. But when you look at the 70s and early 80s, baseball wasthe sport. And we need to get back to that. Do you like the way the game is trending? Griffey:Yeah, a lot of fans are happy. Youre going to get mixed emotions with the rule changes, but every franchise NBA, NFL theyve all made certain changes to keep the star players on the field and keep it safe. And I think were no different than anybody else. Do you have a favorite player to watch? Obviously, you were able to do so many different things athletically as a player, so Im curious who you're drawn to? Griffey:I watch from Freddie [Freeman] to Mookie [Betts] to Shohei to [Mike] Trout, [Bryce] Harper, Vlad Guerrero, Julio Rodrguez, Cal [Raleigh], what he did last year. I mean, theres a lot of guys doing special things. The pitcher from Milwaukee up to 105 mph. You still got [Aroldis] Chapman throwing 103. Its a good time and a special time for baseball. We just need to keep the momentum going and bring some of the younger generation back into the fold. How to Watch the 2026 MLB All-Star Game The 2026 MLB All-Star Game is Tuesday, July 14, with first pitch at 8 p.m. ET on FOX, live from Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. Watch the MLB All-Star Game on FOX One for live and on-demand streaming.
