Every Florida baseball player and signee taken in the 2026 MLB Draft has officially signed.The Gators had six players chosen in this years draft, along with one of their high school signees. UF has now produced 21 first-round picks in program history and has had at least four picks in 17 of the last 18 years.The program has also produced at least five draft picks in each of the past four years.Heres a breakdown of every UF player that has signed a deal this offseason.RHP Liam PetersonThe Gators' top pick in the draft was the final player to agree to a deal on Friday, July 24. Peterson was taken No. 19 overall by the Cleveland Guardians. The right-hander received the full slot value of his pick of $4,530,500.UT Kevin Roberts Jr.The high school signee opted to sign with the Baltimore Orioles. Roberts was taken in the fourth round as the No. 110 overall pick. He reportedly signed for $1 million, well above the slot value of $711,800.OF Kyle JonesCenter fielder Kyle Jones was taken as the 102nd overall pick in the third round by the Milwaukee Brewers. Jones signed for $650,000, which is below the slot value of $770,600.RHP Russell SandeferSandefer was selected as the 132nd overall pick in the fourth round by the Los Angeles Dodgers. The slot value for that pick is $575,300, but Sandefer signed for $434,000.RHP Luke McNeillieMcNeillie was drafted as the 152nd overall pick in the fifth round by the New York Mets. The Phillies have been plagued this season by lackluster production from their righty bats. As a whole, J.T. Realmuto (.648 OPS), Trea Turner (.684) and Alec Bohm (.657) have provided unsatisfactory offensive results.While Turners defense has been much maligned this season, hes turned his production around at the plate. Since June 15, Turner has posted an .886 OPS, picking up seven home runs and seven doubles. Realmuto has quietly been performing better recently as well, with an .818 OPS in July. And early-season trade acquisition Derek Hill has provided more value than expected, already worth 1.5 bWAR as a Phillie.That leaves Alec Bohm out of the picture. While his numbers arent as strong as his other right-handed teammates, theres strong evidence that a huge hot streak is inbound.Alec Bohm Is Hitting the Ball HarderBohms numbers since June are lackluster, slashing just .244/.298/.421 in 42 games. Counting just July, Bohm is hitting .239/.311/.478, a little above league average by the measure of wRC+ (114). He avoids strikeouts well (16.9 K% since June) but doesnt walk much either (5.1 BB%). Most importantly, hes grounding out 50.4% of the time, limiting the amount of impact his swings can have.Thats significant, as his swings have had a relatively big amount of impact by measure of his batted ball statistics. Contreras has played an important role in fueling the Red Soxs rampant turnaround this month. The first baseman is slashing a ridiculous .381/.490/.762 in July. His numbers fall just behind Yordan Alvarez for the MLB lead in OBP, SLG, and OPS this month.His elite exit velocity this month sees him hitting similarly to Giants rookie Bryce Eldridge (94.2). Though he is strikeout-prone, Eldridge has still been an above-average hitter this month. Hes slugged .460 and offset his lofty 34.7 K% with a solid 12.5% walk rate. Thats allowed him to be better than average this month by wRC+ (121).Even his relatively lacking 11.3 Barrel% compares well with other strong performers, notably Braves catcher Drake Baldwin (11.9%). Baldwin has been potent in July, with an OPS just over 1.000 and a wRC+ nearly double the league average of 100 (183).These comparisons do not necessarily mean that Bohm should be hitting like any of these players. Each has different batted ball profiles influencing their performances, as well as differing park factors for where theyve played. Bohm has hit the ball hard on average this year, with a 74th percentile exit velocity.In spite of this, Bohms type of contact has been less than ideal generally. Barrel% and launch angle sweet spot (LA Sweet-Spot%) are similar stats that help quantify contact quality. Both stats are ones that Bohm has been well below-average in this year. Bohm is under the 40th percentile in both of these metrics, nullifying much of the actual impact he has been able to provide.But that doesnt necessarily mean hes vastly overperforming either. After the Oklahoma Sooners had just three players make the all-league predictions a year ago, OU was much more well-represented in 2026.On the first team, both kicker Tate Sandell and long snapper Ben Anderson represented the Sooners. "Ray will be a free agent this offseason and would be a solid get for Chicago."While someone like Skubal, Joe Ryan, or one of the other top-tier controllable pitchers would be a fun pickup for the Cubs, Ray is a much more realistic option.He's a free agent after the 2026 MLB season, as his five-year, $115 million contract will be up after 2026. As a rental starter who is also 34 years old and making a lot of money, the Giants likely won't be able to ask for a king's ransom.Jed Hoyer and the Cubs could bring in Ray on a fairly reasonable price tag in a trade with the Giants. During Bosas first press conference, he apologized, saying, It wasnt directed towards (Kaepernicks stance. Its not like Im saying his stance and what he was doing; thats not what I was calling or talking about at all. It was just a specific thing that happened and me as a young kid a thought popping in my head and boom, decided to tweet it out. Bad decision. I respect what hes done. If it empowers anybody, then hes doing a good thing. So I apologize for that.It has been quite the decade for Bosa and girlfriend-turned-wife, Jenna Berman. She had some regrettable tweets as a kid and some strong anti-vaccination thoughts during COVID-19.After a few quiet years, Bosa was fined over $11,000 for wearing a MAGA hat during Brock Purdys postgame interview in November 2024. Theres a faction of people who assume youre a racist if you support a specific president.While the Bosas actions havent done them many favors to dispel that, his Ohio State teammates were outspoken about where they stand with Bosa. Clark used to go out of his way to call Brock Purdy a system quarterback. Clark would have extended rants about how he hated that he had to pretend that Purdy was among the leagues elite and that Purdy never elevated the team around him; rather, they were the ones propping him up. I wonder how much that played a factor in Bosa breaking his Twitter hiatus.Internet sleuths have brought up Bosa using the okay hand gesture as another reason to bring race into the conversation. You can read why that gesture has a negative connotation.This feels like nothing more than somebody satisfied with one person who wasnt good at their job and was criticized personally by said person reacting.

At the All-Star break, the club held the final wild card position. He has pitched better since coming off the IL.
