Dana White confirms Conor McGregor's timeline for return
After five years away from the sport, former two-division champion Conor McGregor made his octagon return on July 11 in the UFC 329 main event in a rematch against former featherlight champion and BMF titleholder Max Holloway. As soon as the bout began things unraveled for the 38 year-old Irishman. At the sound of the bell to start the bout, McGregor rushed across the cage and leaped into the air with a jumping switch kick. He landed awkwardly on his right leg and fell to the canvas. He fell twice more, once while throwing a kick and later a punch. The referee stepped in once it was obvious McGregor had suffered an injury. The fight lasted 69 seconds. In an update to his injuries, McGregor revealed"It was acl and meniscus. It is the same injury as the first Holloway fight, only this time the opposite leg, McGregor wrote on Instagram on July 19. In the update, McGregor listed "next summer" as the timetable for his return. "The Notorious" has one fight remaining on his UFC contract. On Sunday, UFC CEO Dana White confirmed McGregor's timeline during the Zuffa Boxing 09 Post-Fight Press Conference.I have no idea, White said when asked about McGregor already doing keg exercises. We had him on FaceTime tonight, ringside, but you know, Conor McGregors out for a year.

3 teams are suitable MLB trade deadline fits for Reds' Eugenio Suarez
3 teams are suitable MLB trade deadline fits for Reds' Eugenio Suarez originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here. With the Major League Baseball trade deadline one week away, the Cincinnati Reds are one of the NL's most obvious sellers.Franchise cornerstone Elly De La Cruz is most likely off limits, but it would make a ton of sense for the Reds to consider offers for impending free agents. After signing a one-year deal to return to the Reds during the offseason, third baseman/designated hitter Eugenio Suarez falls into that category.Bleacher Report's Kerry Miller wrote Monday that Suarez is a "buy-low" trade candidate. But considering how slim the market is for power bats, the Reds could get a relatively solid return."Geno is still whiffing a ton, but he has six home runs in his last 47 trips to the plate, including an upper decker off Matthew Boyd in Cincinnati's final game of the first half and a 435-foot blast against the Cardinals on Friday night," Miller wrote.Three suitable trade possibilities for SuarezThree teams make sense for the two-time All-Star with 339 career home runs: Seattle Mariners, Miami Marlins, and Milwaukee Brewers. But the Marlins are fading out of the Wild Card race at the worst possible time, losing a franchise record 12 games in a row.MORE:Yankees' Jose Caballero is pushing the limit of the rules"It's also noteworthy that he can play third base. He hasn't exactly been good at the hot corner over the past two seasons, but the fact that he isn't exclusively a DH would appeal to teams like Seattle, Miami and Milwaukee, who have gotten precious little offense from third this season," Miller added. The Mariners traded for Suarez at last year's deadline, and adding him back to their roster for the postseason doesn't make sense.Meanwhile, the Brewers could hope that his recent power surge stays consistent, and Suarez's .682 OPS with 14 homers would be an upgrade over David Hamilton.More MLB news:How Aaron Judge is the real focus of the Yankees' trade deadline plansHave you ever seen a bounce throw to turn a double play? The Braves let their pitcher hit, and it worked out surprisingly wellHow Rays turned Tim Beckham bust draft pick into Junior CamineroBarry Bonds' nephew has a chance to be key pick in 2026 MLB Draft

Steph Curry leaving the Warriors trade rumors include Spurs, Celtics, Mavs and not a lot of concrete fact
Steph Curry leaving the Warriors trade rumors include Spurs, Celtics, Mavs and not a lot of concrete fact originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here. The Golden State Warriors didn't get LeBron James, and it has set off a firestorm of speculation.Namely, fans are wondering if Steph Curry will request a trade. They're going beyond that, too. A look at Curry's latest search trends on Google shows that fans want to know if he's going to the San Antonio Spurs, the Boston Celtics or the Dallas Mavericks.Clearly, there are some rumors circulating that involve all three of those teams. The reality, though, is a bit more murky. There haven't been any concrete trade rumor reports from any of the major NBA insiders about Curry.MORE:The Process culminates with LeBron JamesSure, Curry wants to be competitive late in his NBA career. But he also has spent his whole time in Golden State and stayed quite loyal. It would take a lot to push him out of town.Could Curry change his tune by the trade deadline? Maybe. Is he going to get traded before the season? Almost surely no.It's the kind of premise that is trending on prediction markets, but in this case, that's not particularly indicative of anything. The Warriors may have been the favorite for a little while to land LeBron, but it became clear midway through the process that it seemed like James was favoring the Eastern Conference.Golden State's biggest concern now is getting Jimmy Butler healthy so that he can be back by the second half of the season.Curry is still a great player, and the Warriors can still win some basketball games this season.Especially given that Steve Kerr came back to coach him, it'd be shocking to see Curry in a new uniform soon.Maybe the lack of the LeBron acquisition will alter Curry's final chapter at some point. But right now, there's no reason to think he's going anywhere but the Warriors for opening night.More NBA news:NBA Reddit thinks Cooper Flagg grew 2 inchesHow Heat can unite Giannis with his brothersCaleb Wilson fires a subtle shot at AJ Dybantsa, Darryn PetersonGiannis legacy with the Bucks remains intactA hint at where Bronny James will play next season

Barcelona winger will not leave the club amid Saudi Arabia links – report
Barcelona winger will not leave the club amid Saudi Arabia links reportThere is much anxiety at Barcelona surrounding the future of Ferran Torres and Raphinha. While Ferran has been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain, Raphinha, too, was a subject of interest from Saudi Arabia earlier in the summer.Barcelonas decision to sign the likes of Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi felt like a plan for life without the Brazilian.Raphinhas exit is not expectedRaphinhas World Cup campaign was marred by an injury. (Photo by Al Bello/Getty Images)That being said, a recent report from Cadena SER has indicated that Barcelona are not expecting the departure of Raphinha this summer. The player has a contract until 2028 and after a injury-laden campaign, he will be looking to get back to his old groove in the coming season. The report adds that Raphinha has never informed Barcelona of his desire to leave the club while the player has not received any offers from Saudi Arabia either. It is, therefore, clear that Barcelona are not preparing for the exit of Raphinha this summer, although the same cannot be said for Ferran, who continues to face an uncertain future at Camp Nou.Whats next for Raphinha?Raphinha is ready for the season ahead. (Photo by Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images)Raphinha was merely a shadow of his former self last season as injuries made sure he wasnt able to perform up to his levels. The winger also endured a tough World Cup, having been ruled out of action due to a recurring hamstring problem.Raphinha is looking to get his mojo back heading into the new season, with Barcelona already preparing a specialised training program for the Brazilian international. With Robert Lewandowski no longer present, Barcelona will count on the Brazilian to lead the attacking unit, possibly even from a more central position.Raphinha has the productivity and skill to operate more centrally. But a lot could depend on how Hansi Flick opts to utilise the qualities of two new signings in Gordon and Adeyemi.
