Chelsea Are In Pole Position To Land This Bournemouth Midfielder: Should Alonso Go For Him?
Chelsea Are In Pole Position To Land This Bournemouth Midfielder: Should Alonso Go For Him?In a recent report, The Athletic claimed that Chelsea are in pole position to land Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott. It has been mentioned that the Blues are the likeliest candidates to sign the English midfield ace in this transfer window.Scotts Impressive Season In English FootballScott enjoyed a solid campaign at Bournemouth recently as he managed to put in a run of influential performances at the heart of their midfield. The English talent found the back of the net four times and picked up one assist in 39 matches for the Cherries last season across all competitions. The 22-year-old is currently among the most talented central midfielders in the Premier League. Thus, it is no wonder that the Blues are hoping to get a deal done for him in this transfer window. His current contract at the Vitality Stadium will expire in the summer of 2028, which could make it tough for Chelsea to land him on the cheap this off-season.BOURNEMOUTH, ENGLAND MARCH 03: Alex Scott of Bournemouth during the Premier League match between Bournemouth and Brentford at Vitality Stadium on March 03, 2026 in Bournemouth, England. (Photo by Eddie Keogh/Getty Images)Should Chelsea Boss Xabi Alonso Go For Scott?Scott loves a tackle and can time his challenges well to earn the ball back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when required and is a tidy passer as well from midfield. The English talent can even contribute by scoring and creating the odd goal for his side going forward. Scott mainly plays as a box-to-box midfielder but can also function as an attacking midfielder or as a right winger if asked to do so by his manager. He is already quite familiar with the Premier League and wont take much time to settle into life at the West London club if they manage to bring him on board this summer.Scott would add more energy and dynamism to Chelsea head coach Xabi Alonsos midfield department. He has what it takes to fight for a regular starting role at Stamford Bridge in the coming seasons. At 22, Scott has the potential to be a world-class player in his position someday. He will also help the Blues compete across all fronts in the future. Hence, Alonso would be wise to go for a player of his quality this off-season as long as he can get him for a reasonable fee.

Will Malik Nabers be ready for Week 1? Giants GM weighs in
WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. Will star wide receiver Malik Nabers be ready for Week 1? That question continues to linger, as the Giants on Wednesday held their first training camp practice at The Greenbrier resort. Before practice, general manager Joe Schoen said he remains hopeful that Nabers will play in Week 1 but wouldnt make any guarantees. Were going to see, Schoen said. The medical staff has a really good plan for him. Were going to listen to the patient, so were going to see how he reacts. As long as everything goes as planned, well listen to Malik and his body. And hopefully, hell be ready. But no predictions right now, just because we have a long way to go still, a lot of camp. We had a flight [Tuesday], and hes still working through some things. Schoen said Nabers recently has been running routes and cutting while rehabbing a positive development. Nabers did not begin camp on the physically unable to perform list, but he is still rehabbing last seasons serious knee injury. Nabers tore his ACL and also underwent a full meniscus repair, which can prolong a players rehab process. Plus, Nabers this offseason had a second surgery, to clean up scar tissue. That second procedure raised questions about how soon Nabers would get back on the practice field and whether hed be ready for coach John Harbaughs Giants debut, a massive Sunday night home game against the Cowboys on Sept. 13. Quite obviously, the Giants need Nabers, since he is their offenses most fearsome weapon. Nabers did nothing during practice in the spring, raising concerns that he might begin camp on the PUP list which would let the Giants free up his roster spot for as long as he remained on that list. If Nabers had started camp on the PUP list, he technically could have remained on that list into the regular season. But its a good sign for the Giants that he wound up not landing on the list at all. Whether that means he definitely will be ready for Week 1 remains to be seen. His first standing ovation came when he struck out leadoff hitter Taylor Ward on a 3-2 changeup to record his 1,000th career strikeout. He reached the mark in 857 innings, breaking Max Scherzers franchise-best mark of 944 2/3 innings. He got another ovation when Tigers manager A.J. Hinch removed him after Leody Tavares RBI single with two out in the seventh. With Detroit lingering below .500, the Tigers could deal their ace ahead of next Mondays trade deadline. Skubal is eligible for free agency after the World Series. He has a $32 million salary, a record total in arbitration, after the team offered $19 million, and is expected to sign a massive contract in the offseason. The 29-year-old lefty said earlier this month that it was his preference is to finish the season with the Tigers to compete for a World Series championship, which has eluded the franchise since 1984.Going into spring training and the whole offseason, Ive never been more motivated to try and win a World Series for this city, the team that drafted me and helped develop me, he said on July 23.Detroit has bounced back in June and July but still entered Wednesday at 51-57, 3 1/2 games out of the last AL wild card.Skubal had experimental surgery on May 6 to remove a loose body from his pitching elbow and returned to pitch on June 13.The way the surgery went is exactly how it was supposed to go, he said in July. I dont know if remarkable is the word I would use.

New York Giants Over/Under Win Total: Can John Harbaugh Turn Things Around?
In 2025, the New York Giants finished with a 4-13 record and last in the NFC East. The Giants have just one winning season since 2016. Aside from their 2022 campaign, when they won a wild-card playoff game, the G-Men have failed to win more than six games in every other season during that span. However, with a plethora of young talent and a Super Bowl-winning head coach now leading the way, the Giants are presumed to take a step forward this season. Let's check out their Over/Under win total odds for the 2026 season. This page may contain affiliate links to legal sports betting partners. New York Giants Over 7.5: -110 (bet $10 to win $19.09 total)Under 7.5: -110 (bet $10 to win $19.09 total) What to know: While 2025 was another disappointing year for the Giants, there were plenty of good things to take away from the season. The emergence of elite young talent like Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo provided legitimate optimism for the future. Dart threw for 2,272 and 15 touchdowns, while also rushing for 487 yards and nine TDs in just 12 games started. Skattebo rushed for 410 yards and five TDs in less than eight full games. Injuries were also a major storyline for New York in 2025. Throughout the season, 28 players were placed on injured reserve, including star wideout Malik Nabers in Week 4 (torn ACL and meniscus) and Skattebo in Week 8 (tibia/fibula fracture). However, heading into 2026, the Giants will have even more room for optimism after bringing in John Harbaugh as their new head coach. Across his 18 NFL seasons with the Ravens, Harbaugh has a head coaching record of 193124 (.609 winning percentage), a Super Bowl title, six AFC North division titles, 12 playoff appearances, four AFC Championship appearances and an AP NFL Coach of the Year honor. Odds: This upcoming season, New York is +600 to win the NFC East, +3500 to win the NFC and +7000 to win the Super Bowl.

Philadelphia Eagles Over/Under Win Total: Can Philly Reach 11 Wins Again?
Coming off their Super Bowl win in 2024, the Philadelphia Eagles won 11 games and the NFC East in 2025 before falling to the San Francisco 49ers in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs. Last season, Philadelphia's defense was certainly not the problem. They ranked fifth in the NFL in points per game (19.1). However, their offense took a major step back from their Super Bowl-winning season. In 2024, the Eagles' offense ranked seventh in points per game (27.2) and eighth in yards per game (367.2). Those numbers dropped significantly in 2025, as it was 19th in points per game (22.3) and 23rd in yards per game (311.2). So can Philly improve on the offensive side of the ball this season? Let's check out their Over/Under win total odds for the 2026 season. This page may contain affiliate links to legal sports betting partners. Philadelphia Eagles Over 10.5: +115 (bet $10 to win $21.50 total)Under 10.5: -140 (bet $10 to win $17.14 total) What to know: After struggling offensively in 2025, Philadelphia parted ways with offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo. Heading into 2026, Sean Mannion has taken over as the Eagles' OC. Mannion spent 11 seasons as an NFL quarterback before entering coaching in 2024 as an offensive assistant for the Green Bay Packers, quickly rising to quarterbacks coach in 2025. Philly traded A.J. Brown to the Patriots this summer, and acquired wide receivers Dontayvion Wicks and Hollywood Brown while also drafting Makai Lemon in the first round of the NFL Draft. Philadelphia also brought in Jonathan Greenard and Riq Woolen to replace a few key defensive departures, like Nakobe Dean and Reed Blankenship. Philly then extended Jalen Carter via a four-year, $152 million contract extension, making him the highest-paid defensive tackle in NFL history. Odds: This upcoming season, Philadelphia is the +115 favorite to win the NFC East, +820 to win the NFC and +1600 to win the Super Bowl.
