Manchester United Identify This Experienced Striker As A Target: What Will He Bring To Old Trafford?
Manchester United Identify This Experienced Striker As A Target: What Will He Bring To Old Trafford? In a recent report, The i Paper revealed that Manchester United have identified Dusan Vlahovic as a target for this summer transfer window. It has been claimed that the Red Devils are eyeing a move to bring the Serbian striker to Old Trafford on a free transfer this off-season.Vlahovics Decent Record In Serie AVlahovic enjoyed a good campaign at Juventus recently as he managed to put in a string of impressive displays for them in the final third. The 26-year-old banged in ten goals and grabbed two assists in 23 matches for the Turin outfit last season across multiple competitions. The Serbian talent is currently among the most experienced forwards in Europe and is available as a free agent. Hence, Man United would do well to get him on board this summer.Vlahovic was a decent contributor in Serie A last season. However, only time will tell whether he can adapt to the high intensity of the Premier League if the Red Devils manage to secure his services in this transfer window.TURIN, ITALY MAY 03: Dusan Vlahovic of Juventus FC celebrates scoring his teams first goal during the Serie A match between Juventus FC and Hellas Verona FC at Allianz Stadium on May 3, 2026 in Turin, Italy. (Photo by Valerio Pennicino/Getty Images)What Will Vlahovic Bring To Manchester United?Vlahovic is proficient at finding a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He can be a streaky goal-scorer in the final third and can chip in with the odd assist for his team.Standing at 1.90m, the Serbian sensation is a strong presence in the air as well. However, it remains to be seen whether he can make a smooth transition to life in Premier League football if Man United opt to sign him on a free transfer this off-season.We can expect Vlahovic to bring more firepower to Michael Carricks frontline. He has got the experience and skill set to fight for a regular first-team place at the Theatre of Dreams in the coming years. At 26, Vlahovic is about to enter his prime, which makes him a worthy target for the Red Devils to pursue in this transfer period. He will also help Man United compete across all fronts in the future. Therefore, Carrick should focus on trying everything in his power to lure Vlahovic to Old Trafford on a free transfer this summer.

FAMU football's biggest position battles entering 2026 training camp
Its time to go camping.Florida A&M football will begin its 2026 preseason training camp, with practices scheduled to start on Friday, July 31.It will be the first camp for new Rattlers head coach Quinn Fordham Gray Sr., who was hired by his alma mater last December after three years at Albany State.Gray will evaluate a turned-over roster from the previous coaching regime. He will have to make some tough decisions on the depth chart before the regular season kicks off on Aug. 29, with a home game against Albany State at Ken Riley Field at Bragg Memorial Stadium.Lets take a look at FAMU footballs most intriguing position battles entering the season.Who will be FAMU football's wide receiver 1?Quarterback Isaiah Knowles has options. But who will overtake the top spot and be the go-to guy for the Rattlers? The most productive holdovers at FAMU are wide receivers Armand Burris, ACeon Ace Cobb, and Jamar Taylor. Incoming transfers are Quan Lee from Arkansas State, Mike Peterson from Florida, and Corey Deuce Petty from Albany State.Lee actually transferred back to FAMU after spending the 2025 season at Arkansas State, an NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision program. The six named wide receivers are just a few. Cant forget a name like true freshman and hometown product Maliek Denmark, who could be a day one starter out of Tallahassees Lincoln High School. The Rattlers hold 15 receivers in total on their fall football roster. What will be FAMU football's offensive line starting lineup? The biggest question mark of the offseason has been the Rattlers offensive line depth.Twelve offensive linemen are listed on the roster. Returners include Tommy Bridgewater, Wyatt Crosby, Jeremy Fishkin, Kai Gadson, Caleb Riley, Christian Wingfield, and Chris Williams. Caleb Smith recently transferred to FAMU from Albany State over the summer.FAMU has two-deep depth and then some. That was an emphasis for Coach Gray once spring ended.Still, Rattlers will have to find the right mix and best possible lineup for their offense to run without disruption.Who will come off the edges as FAMU football's defensive ends?FAMU has a good problem to have.Talented edge rushers. But only two can play at a time.Antonio Camon Jr. will likely man one of the spots after leading the team with four sacks last season. Syracuse transfer Caden Brown earned raving reviews during spring practices. Newcomer from Albany State, Isaiah Morrison, is another defensive end to keep an eye on. He was on last years Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference second team and should be in the mix for the Rattlers.Regardless of who starts on the edges, FAMU can rotate players to keep fresh legs in the game against opposing offenses.Florida A&M football 2026 scheduleAll times are EasternSaturday, Aug. 29: vs. Albany State, 7 p.m., SWAC TVSunday, Sept. 6: vs. South Carolina State, Orange Blossom Classic at Miami Gardens' Hard Rock Stadium, 3 p.m., ESPNUThursday, Sept. 10: at Miami, 8 p.m., ACC NetworkSaturday, Sept. 19: vs. Tennessee State, 7 p.m., HBCU GOSaturday, Sept. 26: vs. Alabama A&M (SWAC), 7 p.m., SWAC TVSaturday, Oct. 3: BYESaturday, Oct. 10: at Alabama State (SWAC), 3 p.m., HBCU GOSaturday, Oct. 17: at Jackson State (SWAC), 3 p.m., ESPN NetworkSaturday, Oct. 24: vs. Arkansas-Pine Bluff (SWAC/Homecoming), 3 p.m., HBCU GOSaturday, Oct. 31: vs. Southern (SWAC), 3 p.m., HBCU GOSaturday, Nov. 7: at Alcorn State (SWAC), 3 p.m., SWAC TVSaturday, Nov. 14: vs. Mississippi Valley State (SWAC), 3 p.m., SWAC TVSaturday, Nov. 21: vs. Bethune-Cookman (SWAC/Florida Classic), 3:30 p.m., ESPN+Gerald Thomas, III, is a multi-time national award-winning reporter for his coverage of theFlorida A&M Rattlersat the Tallahassee Democrat under the USA TODAY Network.Follow his award-winning coverage onRattlerNews.comand contact him via email atGDThomas@Tallahassee.comor on the app formerly known as Twitter@3peatgee.This article originally appeared on Tallahassee Democrat: FAMU football's biggest position battles entering 2026 training camp

Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here. The Los Angeles Angels are on their way to an 11th consecutive losing season.Poor decision-making from the front office is a significant reason.Over the years, the Angels have made over a dozen questionable signings, with their most recent one failing to regain his old form in the minors.According to The Athletic's Sam Blum, the AL West club released right-hander Alek Manoah on Wednesday. The former Toronto Blue Jays All-Star signed a $1.95 million guaranteed contract with the Angels during the offseason.Manoah's minor league performance was less than impressive. In 11 starts between Triple-A and Single-A, he posted an ugly combined ERA of 15.43.When he was finally promoted to the Angels, Manoah's odds of making a strong Major League comeback fell short. On May 16 against the Los Angeles Dodgers, Manoah allowed eight earned runs in 1.1 innings, with his fastball averaging just 87 mph. That outing was Manoah's last in an Angels uniform after starting the season on the IL with a fingernail issue.MORE:Giants willing to trade Heliot Ramos in big news for many MLB clubsInjuries have been a lingering issue for Manoah, whounderwent Tommy John Surgery in 2024 and missed the entire 2025 season. The 28-year-old's best MLB season came in 2022 with the Blue Jays. Oklahoma Sooners predicted to have best regular season since 2019
The Oklahoma Sooners are coming off a bounce-back season in 2025. The Sooners went 10-3 after going 6-7 in 2024, making their first College Football Playoff appearance since 2019. But the Sooners are hoping to be even better in 2026. They return star quarterback John Mateer, wide receiver Isaiah Sategna and several defensive stars, including linebacker Kip Lewis, defensive backs Peyton and Eli Bowen and defensive linemen Taylor Wein and David Stone. However, to improve on their 10-2 regular season, the Sooners would have to do something they haven't done since 2019: win at least 11 games in the regular season. That's exactly what On3's J.D. PicKell is predicting. On "The Hard Count," PicKell predicted Oklahoma to go 11-1 with the lone loss against the Georgia Bulldogs on the road."Man, I think Oklahoma finishes at 11-1," PicKell said. "I was sitting down doing this segment (Tuesday) morning, and full transparency, I felt like Oklahoma would be closer to 10-2... You look at the matchups that they have. Of their nine Power 4 opponents, seven of them will have either a new play caller or a new quarterback. Advantage Brent Venables every single freaking time."An 11-1 season won't come easily with Oklahoma's demanding SEC schedule, but Oklahoma has one of the most experienced rosters of the Brent Venables era. If the offense takes another step forward while the defense continues to play at an elite level, Oklahoma has a legitimate opportunity to contend for both an SEC championship and a return trip to the College Football Playoff. Pittsburgh Steelers Over/Under Win Total: Rodgers Embarks On Final SB Quest
If Aaron Rodgers wants to add a second Super Bowl title to his ledger, this is the year to do it. That's because the multi-time MVP has said this season will be his last. The Steelers made the playoffs last season, Rodgers' first with the franchise. However, things ended quickly and abruptly, via a 30-6 wild-card loss to the Texans. Now, Rodgers gets one more go at it. Let's check out the Steelers' Over/Under win total odds for the 2026 season. This page may contain affiliate links to legal sports betting partners. If you sign up or place a wager, FOX Sports may be compensated. Read more about Sports Betting on FOX Sports. Pittsburgh Steelers Over 8.5: +110 (bet $10 to win $21 total)Under 8.5: -130 (bet $10 to win $17.69 total) What to know: In Mike Tomlins 20 seasons with the Steelers, Pittsburgh never had a losing season, and the team had won more than 8.5 games in every year since 2019. However, despite winning 10 games last season and making yet another playoff appearance, Tomlin is now gone, and Mike McCarthy has taken over as head coach. McCarthy and Aaron Rodgers will reunite from their days in Green Bay alongside several new offensive weapons most notably, wideout Michael Pittman Jr., who will line up on the opposite side of DK Metcalf. Yes, Rodgers has some weapons at his disposal, but how will he perform in what will be his final NFL season? Last year, he started 16 games and threw for 3,322 yards, 24 touchdowns and seven picks. His 65.7 completion percentage was also tied for the seventh-highest of his career, despite being 42. Odds: This upcoming season, the Steelers are the +510 third choice to win the AFC North, the +2300 tenth choice to win the AFC and the +5000 19th choice to win the Super Bowl.
