INDIANAPOLIS The Brickyard 400 was where Kyle and Samatha Busch's love story began, where Samantha had a chance meeting at Indianapolis Motor Speedway with a "cute, kind of shy boy" 19 years ago who "would turn into the love of my life, my best friend, the father of my children, and almost twenty years of memories together."Every year, the Brickyard was their special celebration, remembering two "kids" who had no idea what a beautiful life they had ahead of them, Samantha posted to Facebook this week.But this year, Indy had an entirely different meaning for her."This past weekend was the Indianapolis race, and with it came a flood of emotions. Its where Kyle and I met, where our story began, and every year when Indy rolled around we celebrated it in our own special little way," Samantha wrote. "Sometimes it was a nice dinner, other years wed walk the track together, reminiscing about those two kids who met there all those years ago."Kyle Busch died in May at 41 years old, a two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion who was set to continue his Cup season and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series at Charlotte Motor Speedway the upcoming weekenduntil his family announced he was hospitalized with a severe illness."Our entire NASCAR family is heartbroken by the loss of Kyle Busch,"NASCAR postedin an online statement May 21. Seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson is adding some big-time winners to his race team. Johnson announced a strategic ownership group for Legacy Motor Club on Thursday that includes championship athletes, Grammy Award winners, entrepreneurs, investors, motorsport greats and cultural leaders. Johnson remains the team's majority owner. The Legacy investors include six-time IndyCar champion Scott Dixon, four-time IndyCar champion Dario Franchitti, two-time National League MVP Bryce Harper, Indianapolis 500 winner Tony Kanaan, former U.S. Open champion Andy Roddick, 11-time surfing world champion Kelly Slater and six-time MLB All-Star Chase Utley. The group also includes three-time Grammy Award winner Darius Rucker, Emmy Award-winning chef Guy Fieri, Amway co-founder Jen Rubio and CrossHarbor Capital co-founder Sam Byrne. "This is not a traditional ownership group," Johnson said in a statement. "It is a collection of people who understand competition, leadership, innovation, storytelling and how enduring organizations are built. They come from different worlds but share a common belief: that Legacy can become something fundamentally different within motorsports and culture." After a lengthy recovery from a foot injury, DiJonai Carrington will finally make her debut for the Chicago Sky on Thursday, per ESPNs Alexa Philippou. The guards 2026 debut will come against the Connecticut Sun barring any setbacks pregame.Carrington suffered the left foot sprain last season while with the Minnesota Lynx, forcing her to miss the rest of the Lynxs playoff run. Baum wishes to avoid another season on the bench after losing half of his market value over the past 12 months.Frankfurt may presently offer the clearer pathway. Veteran Timothy Chandler is the only other nominal right-back in Htters squad, whereas Baum would have to compete with established Norwegian international Julian Ryerson in Dortmund.The additional Champions League and Supercup fixtures available at Dortmund could nevertheless create opportunities. A drill concept so simple that Mittens, Whiskers and Fluffy could figure it out.But this might be the core of why Saleh's defenses work. It's not about reading or reacting. It's all attack, all the time. Spend five minutes watching a Whitecotton-run drill and you'll hear a nonstop barrage of grunts, thuds, lessons, taunts and commands. Whitecotton has something to say about every rep, and his players do too. Simmons, unsurprisingly, is the ringleader. On one rep on July 30, Simmons plowed through his blocking dummy so decisively that he bowled over Bill Walsh Coaching Fellow Malik Davis too. Then Simmons got up and taunted Davis and the dummy for about 15 seconds until he got to take another rep.If the Titans accomplish anything in 2026, it's going to be because Simmons and his position mates are capable of doing things like that in a defense where they'll be encouraged to do things like that. Johnson, who was a Pro Bowler under Saleh with the New York Jets, says the two main philosophies are to keep things simple and to keep things stupid. Don't overthink. Don't overcomplicate.
