Simon Powell has revealed why his fight at PFL New York was canceled.Powell (12-2) was set for a light heavyweight bout against Dovlet Yagshimuradov (26-8-1) on the main card of the event taking place Friday at UBS Arena in Belmont, N.Y. Wednesday, Powell announced the fight was pulled from the card. Luckily, he will get to keep the same matchup and compete just a week later."It's one of those ones that's out of my control," Powell said in a YouTube video. "It's annoying, but we've just got to keep moving. Got an issue with the athletic state commission here in New York. They won't allow me to fight because of a previous surgery I had. I'm completely fine. I've fought after I had the surgery. There's no issues with me, but it's just because of the surgery I've had, here, they won't allow me to fight. "But the good news is, we are fighting next week in Charlotte. Same opponent, same fight, nothing changes just a different location. The New Orleans Saints have provided another important reference point for the Baltimore Ravens as they consider a long-term extension for Zay Flowers.New Orleans signed Chris Olave to a four-year extension worth up to $132 million, including $90 million guaranteed. Contract negotiations will account for guarantees, structure, incentives and each players production. It does, however, give Flowers representatives another comparable deal involving a receiver from the same draft class.Baltimore could wait because Flowers is under contract through 2027. The Denver Broncos hosted a pair of defensive backs for tryouts on Thursday. The Broncos brought in veteran Sam Webb and undrafted rookie Ricardo Hallman, according to the NFL's transaction wire. Webb (6-0, 194 pounds) has spent time with four NFL teams, most recently playing for the Cleveland Browns in 2025. The 28-year-old defensive back totaled eight tackles, one pass breakup and one fumble recovery returned for a touchdown in seven games (two starts) with the Browns last fall.Webb entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of Missouri Western with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2022. DETROIT Wyndham Clark threw a strike at the Tigers game. "Now, I have a little more of a family relationship here. My girlfriend's from this area, so that makes it really fun."Kind of a home week, it feels like."Clark, 32, isdating Metro Detroit native Emily Tanner, 31, an Instagram model, social-media influencer and Michigan State alumna who also is enjoying her week back home.Clark lives in Scottsdale, Arizona, and Tanner lives in Los Angeles, but they've been doing a bit of summering in Michigan, including some lake time over the July 4 holiday. He missed the cut in his last tournament, the British Open earlier this month.He's ranked ninth in the Official World Golf Ranking and fourth in the FedEx Cup Playoffs standings. Clark is playing the Rocket Classic for the fourth time. He finished tied for eighth in 2022."A bummer that we're not coming back next year," Clark said.
