The play became even more impressive when Thomas wrestled the football away after it appeared headed for an interception, turning a potential takeaway into a highlight-reel reception.That catch caught the attention of none other than JaMarr Chase.Speaking after practice, Chase praised Thomas ability to win in contested situations and pointed to the value of having another big-bodied receiver capable of making plays above the rim. Chase noted thats the type of skill set Cincinnati can use, especially when it comes to winning jump-ball opportunities.Thats an explosive, and thats what we need. Thats another Tee Higgins. Weve got somebody else to go there and get a jump ball, Chase told Bengals.com. I dont really get jump balls like that. Joe usually leads me out in front. But seeing it from the younger guys and seeing what kind of catches they can make, contested catches, thats what we need.Thomas wasnt limited to one splash play, either. Earlier in practice, he hauled in a well-placed pass from veteran quarterback Joe Flacco on a shorter route, continuing whats becoming an encouraging start to camp.The former Georgia and Texas A&M receiver faces an uphill climb as an undrafted rookie in a crowded Bengals receiver room. Chase, Tee Higgins, Andrei Iosivas, newcomer Colbie Young, and Charlie Jones are all battling for roster spots and playing time, making every practice rep meaningful.Still, its hard to ask for a better way to stand out than making contested catches that earn praise from one of the NFLs premier receivers.Its still early, and one practice wont secure Thomas a roster spot. But if he continues flashing his size, ball skills, and ability to finish through contact, hell give the Bengals plenty to think about as preseason games approach.

Last years Bryan Bros Invitational saw the Tigers finish first with a 35-under stretch over two days of play. At The Fallen Oak Invitational in 2025, LSU tied for the title with some clutch play ending with a 32-under 832.After Inverness, the fall schedule lines up as Olympian Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational (9/18-20), Bryan Bros Collegiate (9/28-29) and The Fallen Oak Invitational (10/17-19).In the spring, LSU will open the season again in Hawaii at the Amer Ari Invitational (2/4-6). A few weeks later they will make their way to Cabo, Mexico, as they take on The Cabo Collegiate (2/28-3/2).LSU will return to the mainland for The Louisiana Classic (3/8-9), hosted by UL Lafayette at the Oakbourne CC.The Tigers will then make their return to three tournaments in the Pauma Valley Invitational (3/15-17), Augusta Haskins Award Invitational (4/3-4), and The Ford Collegiate (4/12-13) before heading into the postseason.The postseason begins with the SEC Championships at its normal site of Sea Island Golf Club in St. Simons Island, Georgia (April 21-25), before the NCAA Regionals (May 17-19). The championships will return to Carlsbad, California and the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa, May 28-June 2.LSU will return the same staff and much of last years lineup this season.Arni Sveinsson,Jay Mendell,Noah McWilliamsandDan Hayeswho all got a plethora of play last year are poised to find a new level. In total, the Tigers returned six and added two freshmen to the squad.

Anthony Chiang: The Heat has strong interest in veteran guard Klay Thompson. The issue is hes still under contract with the Mavericks, as hes due $17.5 million in the final year of his contract. It appears that the Heat will remain patient in filling out the rest of its roster to give Thompson time to possibly shake free through a buyout agreement. While a trade for Thompson is also possible, it would be challenging to pull off considering the only three players on the Heats current roster able to be traded for Thompson in a one-for-one deal are Nikola Jovic, Davion Mitchell and Bobby Portis. The cleaner path is for the Mavericks to eventually agree to a buyout with Thompson, with Thompson hypothetically giving up $7 million of his current salary to become a free agent.
