Barcelona not expected to enter a bidding war to retain the services of PSG, Atletico target
Barcelona not expected to enter a bidding war to retain the services of PSG, Atletico targetAs we enter the month of August, it is going to be a critical one as far as the future of Ferran Torres is concerned. The Spanish internationals contract at Camp Nou expires at the end of next season and has found himself on the radar of PSG and Atletico Madrid, with the former, in particular, in pole position to sign the forward.Recent reports have indicated that Ferran is keen on a move to PSG although Barcelona are actively trying to offer him a renewal in order to retain his services.Barcelona wont go into a bidding warFerran Torres future hangs in the balance. (Photo by Diego Souto/Getty Images)According to Diario SPORT, Barcelona are refusing to enter into a financial bidding war for the striker. The club intend to present him with a renewal proposal in line with their salary policy, effective from September, but that offer will not be improved to fend off outside interest. Should Ferran opt to pursue one of the proposals on his table, with PSG leading the way, Barcelona will not enhance the terms and would instead look to negotiate his exit for a fair fee.The club want to keep Ferran, viewing him as a valued member of the squad with excellent attacking qualities and a good goalscoring record, but they will not lose their heads over him. As the club see it, no player is truly indispensable.Ultimately, the ball is in Ferrans court. Barcelona are still in the dark regarding PSG and have had little contact with the players camp, learning of the interest largely through the media. It must now be Ferran himself who steps forward to confirm whether he wishes to stay or asks to leave.A key piece in the Alvarez puzzleBarcelona wont be desperate to keep hold of Ferran. (Photo by David Ramos/Getty Images)Ferrans decision could have significant knock-on effects for the rest of Barcelonas attacking plans, particularly their pursuit of Julian Alvarez.Should Ferran depart, Barcelona would be left without a recognised centre-forward in the squad, save for the emerging Hamza Abdelkarim. That would only intensify Hansi Flicks calls for a new number nine in what is proving an extremely difficult market for strikers. In that sense, Ferrans future is intrinsically linked to how aggressively Barcelona push for Alvarez. His exit would make signing a striker an absolute necessity rather than a luxury, adding further urgency to a pursuit that has already been complicated by Atleticos firm stance.Should he leave, Barcelona would at least hope to recoup the 55 million they paid to sign him from the Premier League, funds that could then be reinvested in solving their ongoing search for a forward. For now, though, the club await Ferrans decision.

Double PSG sale to Liverpool is now on, could be incredible business
Double PSG sale to Liverpool is now on, could be incredible businessA double sale from Paris Saint-Germain to Liverpool could well be on. It would be sensational business. It's hardly a secret at this point that Liverpool want to sign Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain. That's not to say that they'll definitely get him, though - we were saying exactly the same thing about Yan Diomande and RB Leipzig a couple of months ago.But Liverpool are pushing for this one. They're almost certainly willing to put up a lot of money for Barcola, too, as PSG's asking price is reportedly 180m.Now, we don't believe that'll be where this settles and Liverpool will do what they can to talk PSG down. Though, we do think there's a real possibility that they don't stop there. We're big fans of Ibrahim Mbaye, another winger at PSG, albeit one who typically plays on the right. And given Liverpool do need a winger on that side to replace Mohamed Salah, the teenager feels like a wonderful fit.Bet 10, Get 30 in Free BetsOpen an account and place a qualifying bet of 10 at min odds of 1/5 (1.2) or greater.18+New UK/ROI customers. It's something reiterated by Fabrizio Romano - Mbaye is leaving and it's just a matter of 'where'. We really think that should be Liverpool. After all, the Reds are already in talks with PSG to sign Barcola and we know they want an awful lot of money. That would certainly be easy to negotiate if Liverpool are willing to buy two of their stars. The Parisians certainly need to shift both if they're to complete all the deals they're chasing, so this feels like win-win. Or win-win-win if you include the fact that Liverpool can offer both Barcola and Mbaye what they're after.Barcola wants a starring role and Liverpool can certainly give him that on the left flank. He'd be the main source of pace and drive in the team. Mbaye just wants to play more regularly in a role that's his. Again, Liverpool can do that - Salah's exit created a void that the teenager can fill. And so we really think there's something to this. Both Barcola and Mbaye are available for purchase and they happen to fill real holes in the Liverpool squad.Get it done, we say.
