Each day has been a different part of the pass game, so its hard to really [tell]. And one day you go with the ones, the other day you go with the twos; certainly that matchup is going to be different depending on who youre going against.I think the most important thing is, from a process standpoint, how are we operating at the line of scrimmage, where are their eyes, have they taken command of the huddle, and then cadence, and then understanding the concepts. I think theyre all doing well; theyre all fine. All of our players are working through mistakes and fighting like hell to get better.On the one hand, it would be nice if Monken just announced a decision and everyone could move on to preparing for the season opener in Jacksonville. On the other hand, neither Deshaun Watson nor Shedeur Sanders is likely to be the answer beyond this season, so what is a few more days or weeks of waiting really going to hurt?The fans and media are not the only ones watching the competition, of course, as the rest of the team is keeping tabs on what is happening on the practice field and forming their own opinions on what the right call would be.And the word in the locker room is that the best quarterback on the Browns right now is not named Watson or Sanders.That is according to Breiden Fehoko, a former defensive lineman who played three years in the NFL with the Los Angeles Chargers and is now host of The Fehoko Show on X:Dont shoot the messenger. The San Francisco 49ers have dealt with injuries early in camp, which led the team to sign wide receiver Deebo Samuel, who spent the first six years of his career with the team, on Saturday.Samuel rejoins the 49ers after general manager John Lynch traded him to the Washington Commanders for a 2025 fifth-round pick last offseason. The wideout went on to play 16 games and catch 72 passes for 272 yards and five touchdowns.Now that he's back in the building, 49ers defensive coordinator Raheem Morris is thrilled that he doesn't have to prepare to defend him anymore.Ive hated him so long, and its so nice to have him back in a friendly atmosphere," Morris said with a laugh. "Hes been one of those guys thats been a highly competitive guy in the National Football League that youve got to deal with. No matter what the circumstance of the game is, what the situation is of the game, youve got to be aware. Hes the ultimate piece that can move around, and you have to game plan around him because of his ability to run the football, his ability to line up at receiver, his ability to take screens, his ability to do a bunch of different things on special teams, whether it be return man or whatever the case may be. Hes so versatile, and weve used him so well in the Bay for so long. We were kind of catching up. The Padres have checked in on right-handed pitcher Kodai Senga, per a report by Joel Sherman. The 33-year-old has struggled mightily this year, as he has an 8.66 ERA and a 6.50 FIP in 44.2 innings of work. Sengas outstanding 2023 season increasingly feels like a distant memory, as hes also struggled to stay healthy enough to pitch. Since the beginning of the 2024 season, hes thrown a total of just 163.1 innings, the vast majority of which came in the first half of the Mets ill-fated 2025 season.As for his contract, Senga is signed through the 2027 season, the final one of the five-year, $75 million deal that he signed with the Mets ahead of the 2023 season. It would be surprising to see another team trade for him, but perhaps a change of scenery would benefit both the player and the Mets, even if only to free up a roster spot so the team can take a look at someone else at the major league level.

I heard from a prominent source involved in the negotiations that Harry loves Bayern Munich, and Bayern Munich loves Harry Kane. So, a solution will be found. At the moment, hes on holiday in the Caribbean. Apparently, Kane was inspired by watching both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo play in the recent World Cup and feels as if he could be in a good position to take another run at glory with the Three Lions:Its good for the English national team if the 33-year-old wants to play in the Euros in Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland. But he also saw Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo playing at the World Cup. They were still able to make an impact and score goals. This is why Kane has an idea in his head to play in the next World Cup in 2030, as he desperately wants this title. To do this, of course, you need to have a contract with a top club. Its unlikely that hed still have a key role with the England squad if hes playing football in Saudi Arabia like Ronaldo! There were, of course, one or two players in the squad who perhaps defy this, but when youre the captain of the English national team, you should play in a top league. Harry Kane shares that belief.That goal to play in 2030 is part of the reason why Kane is reportedly seeking a long-term deal with Bayern Munich and not just a short-term extension: This is why Kane is looking for a long-term contract. So, the question now is how long of a contract are we talking about? I heard that both sides are clear on the matter there will be a contract on the table offering a minimum two-year extension (until 2029). His current terms run out in 2027. The next question is how much the Englishman wants to earn with his new contract. Both sides are also clear on this: he should earn about 25m gross per year. He wont earn less on the new contract. But its easier to say that he can stay on this amount if he gets handed one more year on his contract, or perhaps Harry Kane will get more money if hes agreeing to a shorter-term contract.Direct negotiations will start when Harry Kane returns to Bayern Munich after the Asian tour. Bayern will be back on August 8, and then negotiations can officially begin.BFW AnalysisMany fans will be onboard with a new deal for Kane, but some are already skeptical of what Kanes game might look like in 2028 or 2029. The dynamics of the deal might be debated, but Kane is not going to take any type of hit on his salary because he is too important to what Bayern Munich does offensively and also would leave a gaping hole in the attack that might be too difficult to fill. Regardless, the partnership is mutually beneficial, but Kane clearly holds an advantage over the club in this matter and it seems highly unlucky that his salary goes anywhere, but up in this scenario. The Lee County School District placed Mariner High School head football coach Tyran Jones on administrative leave while it investigates a reported hazing incident during a recent team lock-in at the school. On Aug. 2, 2026, Lee School Board chair Armor Persons confirmed the district's action on social media in a response to a post about the incident, which alleged students were left unsupervised during the lock-in."As Chair of the Lee County School Board, I have been briefed that the district immediately initiated an investigation and placed the coach on administrative leave while that investigation is underway," Persons wrote. "That is the appropriate first step to protect the integrity of the investigation and ensure due process."I will not speculate or prejudge anyone before the investigation is complete.
