Hull City make move for 20m Premier League winger
Hull City make move for 20m Premier League wingerHull City Monitor Manor Solomon Move as Tottenham Transfers AccelerateHull City are among the clubs tracking Manor Solomon as Tottenham continue to reshape their squad before the Premier League season begins. According to I News, Spurs still expect several departures in the closing stages of the window, and Solomon is one of the names moving towards the front of that queue. The 27-year-old has had pre-season minutes under Roberto De Zerbi, yet the wider picture appears clear. He is not part of the plans for 2026-27 and Tottenham are open to a deal. West Ham are described as the current frontrunners, although Hull City have registered interest and are watching developments closely.Photo IMAGOManor Solomon transfer latestTottenhams valuation is around 20m, with early bids potentially landing anywhere between 10m and 20m. That range leaves room for movement and makes this one worth following, especially for Championship clubs assessing whether there is a structure that could work.Solomon joined Spurs on a free transfer from Fulham in 2023 but has struggled to establish himself in north London. He has made only five senior appearances for the club and has since taken in loan spells at Leeds United, Villarreal and Fiorentina. There were moments when a route back looked possible, but another temporary exit followed and the expectation now is for a permanent move.Tottenham transfer plans take shapeThis is part of a much broader Tottenham reset. Cristian Romero is being monitored by Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid and there is a growing expectation he will depart before the new campaign starts on 21 August. Mikey Moore is also heading towards another loan, with Cologne competing against Championship interest, while Guglielmo Vicario has admirers in Italy as Antonin Kinsky prepares to begin the season as first choice. At the top end of the pitch, De Zerbi wants more. He recently hinted at another bomba before the window shuts, with Tottenham still pursuing a wide forward. Liverpools Cody Gakpo is viewed as a leading option, although any move would rely on Liverpool finding a replacement under Andoni Iraola. Manchester Citys Savinho remains a longer-term target.Photo IMAGOSpurs have already moved aggressively, bringing in Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, Jan Paul van Hecke, Marcos Senesi, Andy Robertson and Martin Dubravka. After finishing 17th last season and surviving on the final day, there has been a significant change in approach, including a willingness to stretch previous financial limits.Hull City interest offers intriguing openingFrom a Hull perspective, Solomon is an interesting name. He brings top-flight pedigree, experience across multiple leagues and a profile that suggests he could become a difference-maker if the finances align. Whether Hull can outmanoeuvre West Ham is another matter, but their presence in the conversation says plenty about their ambition under Sergej Jakirovic. For now, this feels like a situation that could move quickly. Tottenham are active, Solomon is available and Hull City are one of the clubs paying attention. Our ViewManor Solomon is a player with obvious quality, and if the club are genuinely in the mix then it shows there is real intent behind the recruitment strategy. He has had a stop-start time at Tottenham, but players in that position can often be perfect opportunities for ambitious clubs willing to move decisively. There is every reason to be excited by what he could bring. Solomon is quick, direct and capable of unsettling defenders in one-v-one situations. Hull have needed more cutting edge and unpredictability in wide areas, and this sort of signing would instantly raise the level of the attack. Even the fact Hull are being mentioned alongside a Premier League club like West Ham tells you the market may be opening up in a more adventurous way.The financial side is obviously crucial. If Tottenham want 20m, that sounds difficult, but the mention of opening bids from 10m to 20m suggests there may be room for creativity. A structured deal, incentives, or even favourable payment terms could bring it into range. Supporters will hope the club are exploring every angle. Most of all, this is the kind of rumour fans want late in the window. It is bold, it is exciting and it hints at a Hull City side trying to add players who can genuinely change games. If there is a chance to get Solomon through the door, the club should push hard.Source: I News

Ravens reached a reasonable middle ground in Zay Flowers' contract extension
The Baltimore Ravens were never going to retain Zay Flowers at a discount. Their success came in keeping his extension from reaching the absolute top of the wide receiver market. Flowers agreed to a four-year, $140 million contract with a $35 million average annual salary and $108 million guaranteed. The average ties Justin Jefferson for fourth at the position while remaining below Jaxon Smith-Njigba, JaMarr Chase and Drake London.Smith-Njigbas $42.15 million average annual salary set the highest benchmark. Chase is next at $40.25 million, while London narrowly exceeds Flowers at approximately $35.26 million. Baltimore therefore secured its two-time Pro Bowl receiver without approaching the $40 million threshold.Flowers still received outstanding protection. His $108 million in total guarantees ranks fourth among wide receivers, trailing only Smith-Njigba, Jefferson and Chase. That gave his representatives an elite result while allowing Baltimore to avoid resetting the market. The agreement also removes the risk of further inflation. Flowers had two years of team control remaining after Baltimore exercised his fifth-year option, but another dominant season could have pushed his asking price higher. Waiting also would have exposed the Ravens to new contracts that could raise the market.Baltimore instead paid for the player Flowers has become while betting on what he could accomplish during his prime. He owns consecutive 1,000-yard seasons and the franchises single-season receiving record for a wide receiver. The contract is expensive because elite receivers are expensive. Within that market, however, the Ravens found a workable compromise. This article originally appeared on Ravens Wire: Ravens reached a reasonable middle ground in Zay Flowers' contract extension

Salah arrives in Turkey for Trabzonspor talks
Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah was greeted by hundreds of ecstatic supporters upon his arrival in Istanbul (Ozan KOSE)Former Liverpool star Mohamed Salah arrived in Istanbul on Wednesday to complete his move to Turkish club Trabzonspor after leaving the Premier League giants at the end of his contract."Salah mode: ON," Trabzonspor posted on social media alongside photos of the 34-year-old Egyptian aboard a private jet wearing the team's blue and maroon home shirt. The club from Turkey's northeast announced on Tuesday that they had begun "negotiations" with Salah, who left Liverpool after nine seasons and as many trophies with the Reds.He landed at around 0900 GMT in Istanbul, where he was greeted by hundreds of ecstatic supporters, AFP journalists reported."I'm here straight after my night shift, and now for Mohamed Salah, I am ready to spend another sleepless night," Trabzonspor supporter Abdul Kerim Yervan told AFP.Salah is due to undergo a medical on Wednesday in Istanbul before flying to Trabzon later in the day.The right winger, who is set to sign a two-season contract with an option for a third, will earn 17 million euros ($19.6 million) a year, according to several Turkish media outlets.Salah netted 257 goals for Liverpool in 442 appearances in all competitions, making him the third top goalscorer in the club's history. He also scored 193 Premier League goals, 191 of them for the Reds, putting him fourth in the all-time list behind English trio Alan Shearer, Harry Kane and Wayne Rooney.Salah was far from his best in a struggling Liverpool team last term, scoring only seven times in the league. He last played at the World Cup, helping Egypt reach the last 16 for the first time since 1934 before they blew a two-goal lead to suffer an agonising loss to eventual runners-up Argentina.Salah had also been linked with Trabzonspor's Super Lig rivals Besiktas.Trabzonspor finished third in the Turkish top flight last season, nine points clear of Besiktas, to qualify for the Europa League play-off round.Salah has scored 66 goals in 119 international appearances for Egypt and is one of the most successful African players in history.str-rba/ach/smr/nf/pi
