DURBAN, South Africa (AP) New Zealand will face one of its all-time greats in Ma'a Nonu when it plays the Sharks next week in the second match of its South Africa rugby tour.Nonu joined the Sharks only on Tuesday on a short-term contract. He was picked in the back reserves on Friday to play the All Blacks next Tuesday at Kings Park.He retired from internationals in 2015 with 103 test caps after his second Rugby World Cup title, but has continued to play, mainly in France for Top 14 club Toulon, and still hasnt retired at the remarkable age of 44.The Sharks hired Nonu mainly in a mentor and leadership capacity to work with the coaches on player development. Former Florida State basketball forward Chauncey Wiggins has committed to the Gonzaga Bulldogs out of the transfer portal, according to On3's Joe Tipton.Wiggins was initially out of eligibility following the 2025-26 season, but still entered his name in the transfer portal. That decision paid off when a judge in Colorado granted an injunction that gave all 2022 high school recruits a fifth season of eligibility. It did not change the transfer rules, forcing other players to file another suit to be eligible to enter the portal, something former quarterback Tommy Castellanos has said he plans to do.
