Former Milwaukee Brewers third baseman Caleb Durbin's single up the middle scored the winning run for the Boston Red Sox against the Chicago White Sox on Thursday, Aug. 7, continuing an epic stretch of baseball for Boston.Durbin is up to six game-winning RBIs for the Red Sox this year, and his 13th-inning shot to center gave Boston a 12-11 victory. The Red Sox have won an astonishing 31 games in their last 36, entering the weekend at 63-51 and solidly positioned as the No. 2 wild-card team in the American League. After a brutal early stretch with his new team, he now has a .729 OPS with 11 homers and 13 stolen bases.Since June 25, Durbin has a .403 on-base percentage and an .891 OPS. He's also quite likely the best defensive third baseman in the American League, leading all AL players at the position in defensive runs saved and tied for first in outs above average.The Brewers dealt Durbin, Anthony Seigler and Andruw Monasterio to the Red Sox in the offseason for pitchers Kyle Harrison, Shane Drohan and infielder David Hamilton.The Brewers have naturally gotten full value out of the deal, with Harrison and Drohan performing well in the context of one of baseball's best starting rotations. Hamilton is a lineup regular, bringing speed and solid defense to the table.Seigler (.699 OPS) had a double and three RBIs in the 12-11 win and has become a fairly regular option at second base for the Red Sox. Monasterio (.782) had two doubles and two RBIs in the win and has been serving as the Red Sox starting shortstop.
