You can look at it in a couple different ways. Moving him off short gives him a long term home and the Nats can build a team with the idea of Abrams being at second for years to come. A more cynical person could look at this as the Nats showcasing that Abrams can play second to other teams.We will have to wait until the offseason to see what happens though. He also traveled to Las Vegas shortly thereafter with the Vice President of Business Development and helped lock in ESPNs first sportsbook partnership with Caesars.Now fully immersed in the networks burgeoning betting vertical, he was promoted to Deputy Editor of Sports Betting for ESPN Chalk while also serving as the de facto liaison between the network and Caesars.Bold Gamble Makes Sports Broadcasting HistoryAt this juncture, there was an increasingly receptive environment 12 states in addition to Nevada had instituted legal sports betting by the start of 2020, and $7.7 billion had been wagered legally outside the Silver State in 2019.
