Jayden Daniels isnt expected play in the first preseason game, so well likely get Marcus Mariota starting and the battle for QB3 between Sam Hartman and rookie Athan Kaliakmanis taking center stage. There are a lot of new names on the team that will be playing their first game with the Commanders, and most of them are fighting for a roster spot.There have been a number of training camp battles this summer, and some of them have unfortunately been affected by injuries. Laremy Tunsil suffered a torn triceps which ended the LG competition between Chris Paul and Brandon Coleman(moving back to LT). Nick Allegretti suffered a calf strain and has missed most of training camp forcing Washington to scramble to find a replacement starter and depth for practices and preseason games.
