If Scanlon can establish himself as a strong Championship left-back over the coming season, he could return next summer with far greater experience and confidence.Supporters have seen plenty of academy players disappear into a sequence of unproductive loans. This one feels much more purposeful.Scanlon knows Cardiff, Cardiff know Scanlon, and he has already experienced success there.
