The signing is not yet official, as the franchise is still working out details with the league on the timing and viability of the signing, while Arnold continues through the legal process involving eight felony charges from an incident in Florida earlier this year.We have an agreement with him, and well see, Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said. But I just really dont know how were going to do it.On Sunday, Lions coach Dan Campbell was asked about the leagues interest in Arnold following Detroits decision to cut him shortly after the first-round cornerback was arrested in June. Campbell was completely understanding that several teamsreportedly at least eightwere doing their research on Arnold. No, Im not surprised. Every team is going to do their due diligence, Campbell said. So its like we would if we were in their seat, like Seattle or New York or whatever; we wouldve done the same thing. While his career never budded in Detroit, there were flashes that he would reach his full potential. PHILADELPHIA Ian Machado Garry's respectful and friendly attitude at UFC 330 didn't sit well with UFC CEO Dana White.This past Saturday, in the main event of UFC 330, Machado Garry (17-2 MMA, 10-2 UFC)fell short of dethroning UFC welterweight champion Islam Makhachev. The Irishman lost a unanimous decision to Makhachev (29-1 MMA, 18-1 UFC) in a competitive bout that saw Machado Garry come up late in the fight.White thinks the fight could've gone much differently if Machado Garry dropped his friendly and respectful gestures, as he was hugging and shaking hands with the champion throughout the title bout."I think that this is my honest opinion on it; I felt like tonight was set up for the upset," White said at the UFC 330 post-fight interview. "I felt like the upset could happen tonight with so much on the line, all the records that Islam has, and he's going to break Anderson Silva's record. There's weight classes for a reason. Ian Gary is a big, rangy, strong guy who has great takedown defense. I mean, if you look at his takedown defense tonight against Islam, it was impressive. I felt like, I think that Ian is a talented guy. If he had even an ounce of killer instinct in that fifth round, he had been beating him to the body. Islam's whole, I think, right side was beat up. His face was beat up. You don't come out and hug and shake hands. That sh*t drives me fucking crazy when there's so much at stake."There's also a lot of mental gamesmanship, whatever you want to call it, in this game. You come out in that fifth round with a flying knee or something crazy, and you try to finish the fight. I think that this is one of those fights that Ian will go back and watch and say, 'F*ck, I wish I could do that over again.'"Machado Garry had only lost once before fighting Makhachev, and he entered the fight off back-to-back decision wins over Carlos Prates and Belal Muhammad. Although he was an underdog at UFC 330, many pundits and experts were giving Machado Garry a legitimate chance of winning the fight.White felt Machado Garry had something going, but he also has to give Makhachev credit for completing his first UFC welterweight title defense."If he came out and tried to destroy and win that last round, with everything that he had, I think it's a totally different fight," White said. "And then he gives Islam that explosive, you know, he exploded up and got his back. Once he took his back and put the hooks in, that was a wrap. He's going to ride that out to the round ends."Yeah I felt like this, that's how I felt. But on the Islam side, Islam went out; it's the complete opposite. Now against a bigger, strong, rangy guy who has good takedown defense, controlled him, shut him down. But the roster he inherited isnt totally bereft of talent. There may be no sturdier building block on the team than Edge rusher Quincy Rhodes. Rhodes broke out as a junior in 2025, finishing with 44 total tackles and a team-leading 15.5 tackles for loss in addition to 8 sacks, 6 quarterback hurries, and a forced fumble. That TFL total was the most by an Arkansas defender since Trey Flowers had 15.5 in 2015, and he also became the first Hawg to register double digit tackles for loss in a season since Landon Jackson in 2023. Nationally, he ranked 13th in tackles for loss per game and 23rd in sacks per game during the regular season.Heading into 2026 Rhodes earned second team All-SEC honors from both league coaches and the Associated Press and was also tabbed with second team recognition from Athlon Sports and third team from Phil Steele. He stands out as one of the few proven players remaining in Fayetteville after a mass roster exodus following the coaching change, meaning the entire Arkansas defensive identity in 2026 will likely run through him.For Georgia, Rhodes presents a real problem up front. At 6-foot-6 and 275 pounds, he has the length to disrupt passing lanes and the first step to win one-on-one against tackles who arent ready for his quickness. A player who forces 15+ tackles for loss in a season has a demonstrated ability to blow up run designs before they develop, and Georgias offensive line will need a plan specifically built around neutralizing him rather than treating him as a standard edge rusher. Early season road trips can be unpredictable, and Rhodes gives Arkansas a legitimate chance to affect the September 19th matchup with the Bulldogs from the opening series.Go Dawgs!!!
