SPORTS.YAHOO.COMKC Concepcion addresses speech impediment after NFL combine clip draws attention: 'This is who I am'KC Concepcion impressed despite not participating in some drills at the 2026 NFL combine. The Texas A&M wideout was considered a borderline first-round pick in the NFL Draft heading into the event, though may have shown enough skills to move up draft boards after a solid performance. But bad actors tried to throw cold water on Concepcion's combine performance after clips of his media interviews drew attention. Concepcion addressed those clips Sunday night with a heartfelt post about going through life with a speech impediment.Former Texas A&M receiver KC Concepcion opened up on Instagram about his speech impediment ending the message with #StopTheNegativity in the wake of the attention he received at the NFL Combine over the weekend. pic.twitter.com/wxTBFqaTvi Carter Karels (@CarterKarels) March 2, 2026In the post, Concepcion explained that he wants to be "a role model for those who may be scared to speak." He offered thanks to those who supported him and encouraged others to not be affected by the negative thoughts of others. He ended the post with the hashtag #stopthenegativity.Throughout his draft journey, Concepcion has talked openly about his speech impediment. Concepcion said it used to worse earlier in his life, but that taking speech classes helped. In September, he told the Associated Press that he's learned to embrace the impediment as something that makes him unique.Everybody has their own flaws, and its just about how you embrace those flaws and that makes you you, he said.Concepcion also appeared on Shannon Sharpe's podcast in November to talk about his speech impediment. The 21-year-old Concepcion finds himself high up on NFL draft boards after turning in a strong junior season at Texas A&M. After transferring from North Carolina State, Concepcion gained 919 receiving yards and scored nine touchdowns in his first season with the Aggies. That performance was good enough to make Concepcion a possible first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. That's exactly where he sits in Yahoo Sports' latest mock draft, which was released post-combine. In that mock draft, Concepcion is going just inside the first round, with the New England Patriots taking the wideout at pick No. 31.0 Kommentare 0 Geteilt 141 Ansichten 0 Bewertungen

WWW.GBNEWS.COMWales rugby team hit with kit ban for Ireland Six Nations matchWales will be forced to swap their famous red jersey for a white alternate strip when they face Ireland at Dublin's Aviva Stadium this Friday in the Six Nations.Tournament organisers have prevented the Welsh from wearing their traditional home colours to comply with World Rugby's colour blindness regulations. The combination of Irish green and Welsh red presents difficulties for supporters and players affected by red-green colour blindness, which represents the most prevalent form of the condition.During last year's Six Nations fixture between the two nations, Ireland made the switch to white. TRENDINGStoriesVideosYour SayOn this occasion, Steve Tandy's squad will don the alternate kit they last wore during their autumn victory over Japan.World Rugby introduced its colour blindness kit guidelines across all competitions from January last year, following sustained lobbying from awareness groups. The policy stipulates that teams with light-coloured primary strips should maintain a darker secondary option, with the reverse applying to those in darker home colours.According to NHS figures, the condition impacts approximately one in every 12 males and one in 200 females across the population.LATEST SPORTS NEWS:10 talking points from the Premier League including Ramadan row, Arsenal art form and weird Sunday quirkPremier League sensationally forced to delete own tweet after furious complaints from TottenhamMick Schumacher crashes on first lap in nightmare return to racing as 'door closed' on F1 careerRed-green colour blindness remains by far the most common variant, making fixtures between teams in these colours particularly problematic for a significant portion of viewers and participants.Kathryn Albany-Ward, founder of Colour Blind Awareness, welcomed the regulations when they were introduced. Speaking to The Daily Mail, she said: "This benefits everyone, including the players who often don't feel they are able to speak up."She highlighted the scale of the issue within professional rugby squads, noting: "If eight per cent of men are affected, that means there will be two to three players in every squad who are impacted in some way. It's just common sense."The campaigner's comments underscored how the policy change addresses a previously overlooked concern affecting both spectators and athletes alike.Wales head into Friday's encounter in dire form, sitting at the foot of the Six Nations table following three consecutive losses.Their campaign began with heavy defeats to both England and France in February, before a closely contested 26-23 loss to Scotland compounded their misery.Ireland, by contrast, will enter the Dublin fixture as strong favourites to extend their dominance over their rivals. The hosts have emerged victorious in eight of their previous nine encounters with Wales, a record that suggests Tandy's men face a formidable challenge as they seek to salvage something from a disappointing tournament. Our Standards: The GB News Editorial Charter0 Kommentare 0 Geteilt 131 Ansichten 0 Bewertungen -
