The NFL's two-day negotiating period started with some big moves

The 2026 NFL Draft class is very deep at wide receiver, as you are going to find a ton of early contributors in the first few rounds. Texas A&M's KC Concepcion is one of those guys who will be able to plug and play early and could have a major impact in year one. Is he one of the top wide receiver prospects in this class, or does he belong as a day two pick? Let's talk about it. Concepcion, a former three-star recruit out of Chambers High School in Charlotte, North Carolina, originally committed to NC State, where he'd spend his first two years carving out a major role on the Wolfpack offense before transferring to Texas A&M for his final season. Concepcion would make a major impact as a freshman, totaling 71 receptions for 839 yards and ten touchdowns, winning ACC Rookie of the Year, Offensive Rookie of the Year, and second-team All-ACC. He would continue that success to A&M, where he finished last season with 61 receptions for 919 yards and nine touchdowns. KC Concepcion is who you want working out of the slot. He possesses exceptional footwork, especially on short yardage routes, and can break off the top of the route with ease, leaving his defender behind. The route tree is very expensive, and he can run nearly every route concept you can think of. Great ability to stack defenders and find separation over the middle. Quicker than fast, working very well on underneath throws and allowing him to work in the open field. His footwork and acceleration give him an advantage off the line with a great release into his routes. For a receiver being 6' and a tick under 200 lbs, some NFL teams will scoff at him not having true long speed. Not necessarily a major part of his game, but it will be brought up. Concepcion struggles working in the middle of the field, as his frame isn't built to withstand constant blows from MIKE linebackers. While I wouldn't add too much bulk to his frame, he could add a few extra pounds to help in run blocking, as he lacks the strength to hold blocks, but also the proper hand placement and technique. I'll say it: I have a major prospect crush on KC Concepcion. I have him as my WR2 in this class, and he is someone most NFL teams could benefit from. I have a late first-round grade on him and fully believe his game translates seamlessly to the next level.
