SPORTS.YAHOO.COMUnpacking Future Packers: No. 27, Texas A&M DT Tyler OnyedimThe Unpacking Future PackersCountdown is a countdown of 100 prospects who theGreen Bay Packerscould select in the 2026 NFL draft.TheGreen Bay Packersaddressed the most pressing roster need when they signed Javon Hargrave to a two-year deal. The addition of the veteran defensive tackle bolsters the interior of the defensive line, but there is still work to be done to improve that position group.A potential target on Day 3 of the 2026 NFL Draft is Tyler Onyedim. The Texas A&M defensive tackle checks in at No. 27 in the Unpacking Future Packers Countdown. A three-star recruit out of Texas, Onyedim started his college career at Iowa State. During his four seasons in Ames, Onyedim recorded 12 tackles for loss and three sacks. During his lone season at Texas A&M, Onyedim recorded career highs in tackles (48), tackles for loss (8.5) and sacks (2.5). In the last five games, Onyedim recorded six tackles for loss, two sacks, seven pressures, and 10 run stops. With his explosiveness, length, and power, Onyedim can overwhelm interior offensive linemen. He has powerful hands that jolt offensive linemen. He consistently collapses the integrity of the pocket. During his final three college seasons, he recorded 60 pressures. "Onyedim is a very dynamic and versatile defensive lineman who shows exceptional hip flexibility," Shane Coughlin, the Director of College Scouting for the Shrine Bowl, said."He wins early in reps purely on his initial adjustments and initiation angles, where he can catch guards leaning and reacting to his first step before changing directions, leaving them off balance and igniting a second movement into the pocket. There's a lot of explosiveness in his upper and lower half to match."Onyedim has good initial quickness off the snap to disrupt the action in the backfield. He has the short-area quickness to make plays up and down the line of scrimmage. He uses his length to shed blocks and hes strong at the point of attack. He plays with active hands and has a knack for working off blocks to shut down running lanes. This past season he recorded a career-high 27 run stops. "In the run game its more of the same," Coughlin said. "Violent punches with stoutness to hold vertical positioning and then the quickness to disconnect and find ball carriers."Fit with the PackersThe Packers need to get more impactful plays from their interior defensive linemen this season. Adding Hargrave to the mix will certainly help the cause. It's a position group that needs some juice and Onyedim may not be the biggest defensive tackle (6-3, 292 pounds) in terms of mass, but he has the length (34-inch arms), explosiveness, and strength to be a solid rotational player early in his career with the potential to develop into a difference maker. As a Day 3 pick, Onyedim could provide immediate depth up front. In the long term, he could be a starter for the foreseeable future. With his well-rounded skill set and athleticism, he could be high on Green Bay's board as they look for more impactful players in the front seven. This article originally appeared on Packers Wire: Unpacking Future Packers: No. 27, Texas A&M DT Tyler Onyedim0 Commenti 0 condivisioni 49 Views 0 Anteprima

WWW.GBNEWS.COMJimmy White reveals plan to help Ronnie O'Sullivan win record eighth World Snooker ChampionshipJimmy White has thrown his support behind Ronnie O'Sullivan to secure a historic eighth World Championship crown at the Crucible, and the snooker legend is providing his friend with top-class practice facilities to help make it happen. The 63-year-old, who reached six Crucible finals during his career, expects O'Sullivan to visit his venue, the Jimmy White Sports Lounge near Woking Football Club, in the coming weeks.White told The Sun: "He will come in and practice because the facilities there are top draw."The club boasts a Star snooker table, considered among the finest available, where the seven-time world champion can prepare for his Sheffield campaign.TRENDINGStoriesVideosYour SayO'Sullivan, now 50 and residing in Dubai, must carefully manage his UK visits due to tax considerations. The Rocket demonstrated flashes of his trademark brilliance at the World Open in Yushan, where he compiled a remarkable 153 break in the quarter-finals a world record achieved through a free ball before falling to Thailand's Thepchaiya Un-Nooh in the final.White expressed his delight at O'Sullivan's current form, saying "You know, you have got to make him favourite to get his eighth world title."He dismissed concerns about the player's age, adding: "People are going well, he's 50 years old."But he's the fittest guy on the circuit. He's super fit and he's playing some really fabulous stuff."White acknowledged the depth of competition, noting: "The world championship is very open and very exciting. There are at least ten people who can win it."LATEST SPORTS NEWS:Wales fans boo 'God Save The King' in 'meaningless' Northern Ireland stalemateTiger Woods provides update on his golf future as he breaks silence following arrestThomas Tuchel reveals 'scary' concern for England after disappointing defeat to JapanThe Crucible's future as the home of snooker's premier event was secured last week when confirmation came that Sheffield would host the World Championship until at least 2045, with the possibility of extending that arrangement to 2050.The announcement followed a significant agreement between the World Snooker Tour and Sheffield City Council, which will see 500 additional seats installed by 2030.The deal has allayed concerns that the tournament might be relocated to China or Saudi Arabia by Matchroom boss Barry Hearn.White, who first competed at the World Championship in 1981, welcomed the news enthusiastically."Is it a good thing snooker stays at the Crucible? Absolutely," he said. "Certain things can't be bought."White drew parallels with the expansion work undertaken at Wimbledon, suggesting the Crucible improvements would follow a similar approach to accommodate growing demand while preserving the venue's character."What they have done to Wimbledon, where they extended it, so it could cater for everybody," he said."Well, they're doing it now in the Crucible because snooker has been very good to Sheffield. And Sheffield's been very good to snooker."The six-time finalist insisted the additional seating would not diminish the venue's famous atmosphere when play reaches the single-table stage."Adding 500 seats won't change the pit atmosphere when it gets down to one table at the Crucible," White explained, though he acknowledged that backstage areas are "very tired" and require upgrading. Our Standards: The GB News Editorial Charter0 Commenti 0 condivisioni 71 Views 0 Anteprima -
