Cox/Getty ImagesNow Young has a real chance of winning The Masters with just one round to play at Augusta National. If he plays anything like he did on Saturday during the final round on Sunday, he will be slipping into a green jacket by the time the weekend is done.Nick Faldo stunned by what Cameron Young said after shooting 65 at The MastersThe 28-year-old American will head into the final round at Augusta National on Sunday with a great chance of winning his first major championship.Young spoke to reporters after his scintillating play on day three at Augusta National and responded when asked how hes feeling ahead of the final round on Sunday. Its obviously a life-long dream and youve pictured it a million times, Young admitted. But what has got me here is not really thinking of that.Nothing has really changed. I am sure there will be some nerves but those were there on Thursday so there is no reason to think I cant do much of the same tomorrow.Photo by Jared C. Tilton/Getty ImagesWith all due respect to Young, the nerves he will feel on Sunday at Augusta may be slightly different from what he was feeling on Thursday.During his commentary role on Sky Sports in the UK, Faldo admitted that he was shocked by Youngs comments. His nerves are only on Thursday, said the Englishman.Wow, thats what Mr. Young just said. Its nice and relaxed for the weekend. If you prepare yourself for the right mental state, you dont wind yourself up through the week. Its more apprehension on Thursday, because its all brand new.You know, The Masters, hows it going to go? Can you get yourself into a rhythm? And obviously he has. Thats the job.Cam Young on the state of his game after 54 holes at The MastersYoung was asked what worked better for him over the past 36 holes after his struggles on day one.It is more of the same, honestly, he replied.I just happened to have a few shots come down really close today. Got a tremendously fortunate break on 13 where instead of making six or seven, I made a four.It was one of those days. I hit a bunch of good shots, they dont always end up close, but today a lot of them ended up inside of six feet. Then the chip in on four, thats one of those that you dont really count on, I had a few of those today. Now Cameron Young will be desperate to continue the form he has shown on Friday and Saturday during the final round of The Masters on Sunday. If he manages to do just that, the 2026 Masters champion will almost certainly be Mr Young himself.
