Acciona and Real BetisBalompihave begun renovations at Sevilles BenitoVillamarnStadium, launching the first phase of a multi-stage redevelopment project.Theprojectaims to increase the venues capacity and update the facility,Accionasaid.The current phase involves excavation and installation of diaphragm retaining walls in preparation for new below-ground levels.In the coming months, bothparties,operatingunder a joint delivery model, will continue to refine technical aspects of the project and optimise the final design.The collaborative approach aims to integrate solutions developed by bothAccionaand Real BetisBalompi.Subsequentphases will see the construction of a new stand, refurbishment of existing seating areas,including Gol Norte, Fondo and Gol Sur, and the building of an adjacent mixed-use structure.Plans also cover the addition of several underground parking floors, a new roof and a facade for the entire stadium.Construction activity will be organised tomaintainurban mobility and manage noise to reduce disruption to theHelipolisneighbourhood surrounding the stadium.The redevelopment aims toestablishBenitoVillamarnStadium as aleading urban and sports landmarkin Seville, with plans to introduce new architectural designs, improved functionality, advanced technology and notable upgrades for supporters.Previously,Accionadelivered the Rafael Gordillo Training Complex in Dos Hermanas, which features football pitches, shared dressing rooms, office space, a gymnasium, medical facilities and meeting rooms.The development also included supporting buildings for maintenance and control, connected road infrastructure and urbanisation of the area.This training facility was designed with an emphasis on sustainability measures,including bioclimatic features, natural ventilation, energy efficiency, water reuse systems and integration of renewable energy, aligning with Real Betiss Forever Green environmental programme.Accionahas alsobeen responsible forconstructing large-scale sports infrastructure elsewhere in Spain, such as Bilbao's SanMamsStadium and the training complex for Club Deportivo Tenerife.
