Seven former LSU football stars heard their names called during the 2026 NFL Draft in Pittsburgh. Mansoor Delane led the pack of Tigers with a No. 6 overall selection to the Kansas City Chiefs.For the third-straight draft, the first SEC player taken hailed from LSU. Jayden Daniels went No. 2 overall to the Washington Commanders in 2024 and Will Campbell went to the New England Patriots at No. 4 overall last year. The Chiefs traded up to take Delane on Thursday.Two Tigers were taken on day two in the third round on Friday and four went on Saturday, the final day of the draft. Three defenders, including Delane, from a unit that took a major step forward in 2025, are off to the professional level.Four players from the offense heard their names called, including Garrett Nussmeier. HaulcyThe defensive back trend continued as Haulcy, a safety, went in the third round at No. 78 overall to the Indianapolis Colts. He matched the projections as a top 100 pick. Haulcy played one season in Baton Rouge, earning a first-team All-SEC selection. He made 88 tackles and three interceptions through 12 games. Zavion ThomasA versatile weapon for the LSU offense, Thomas went in the third round. The Chicago Bears selected him with the No. 89 overall pick. He joins an up-and-coming offense led by quarterback Caleb Williams.While he was rostered as a wide receiver, Thomas did a bit of everything for the Tigers during his two years in Baton Rouge. He caught 41 passes for 488 yards and four touchdowns in 2025. As a ball carrier, Thomas totaled 99 yards and a touchdown on 19 attempts. He also completed two passes in addition to returning kickoffs and punts. Bauer SharpThe Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected Sharp at No. 185 overall during the sixth round. He played one season at LSU after a breakout year in Oklahoma in 2024. Sharp started every game in 2025. The tight end made 24 catches for 252 yards and two touchdowns. Sharp's selection makes it back-to-back years of LSU tight ends hearing their names called. Mason Taylor went to the New York Jets in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Barion BrownBrown was the second wide receiver from LSU to go in the 2026 NFL Draft. He'll stay in the boot for the time being as the New Orleans Saints selected him at No. 190 overall during the sixth round. After three seasons at Kentucky, Brown opted to spend his senior year in Baton Rouge. He caught 53 passes for 532 yards and a touchdown while also serving as a kick returner.Harold PerkinsPerkins played four seasons at LSU before declaring for the NFL. He likely could've made the jump after last year, but an injury in 2024 led him to don the purple and gold for his senior season. The linebacker made 56 tackles and four sacks last year.The Atlanta Falcons selected Perkins in the sixth round with pick No. 215. He displayed versatility as a pass rusher and in coverage over his time in LSU.Garrett Nussmeier Nussmeier, who was once considered a first-round hopeful, heard his name called on the final day of the draft. The Kansas City Chiefs took him in the seventh round at No. 249 overall.A two-year starter for the Tigers, Nussmeier suffered an injury that derailed his 2025 season. Over his four years in Baton Rouge, he passed for 7,699 yards and 52 touchdowns with a 64% completion percentage.
