Wisconsin rises in NCAA Women's Softball RPI after historic sweep
For the first time since 2012, the Wisconsin Badgers softball team recorded a series sweep at Minnesota.Wisconsin went to Minneapolis, where they took care of business: 4-0, 7-1, 5-3. The Badgers' shutout over the Golden Gophers in game one was particularly notable, as it marked Yvette Healy's 600th win as Wisconsin's head coach. Those three wins helped the Badgers continue to rise in D1 Softball's RPI Report. Now, Wisconsin sits at No. 34. To put things into perspective, they were No. 36 in last week's D1 Softball RPI.First Badger series sweep in Minnesota since 2012! pic.twitter.com/gCvGcEyokz Wisconsin Softball (@BadgerSoftball) April 26, 2026Knowing that 64 teams make the NCAA Division 1 Softball Tournament, Wisconsin is in good shape. With just one series remaining, the Badgers will look to keep their momentum going as Rutgers comes to town from May 1-3.Currently, Wisconsin is seventh in the Big Ten with its 12-9 conference record. For reference, the Scarlet Knights are just 5-16. The NCAA Women's Softball RPI also has Wisconsin at No. 34. That's an impressive jump for the Badgers, who were ranked No. 38 as of April 18. Knowing there are only three games left in the regular season, it's all but a lock that Wisconsin will end its multi-year NCAA tournament drought.
