IndyCar's Mick Schumacher driving with wrist fracture
Mick Schumacher has revealed that he is driving in the IndyCar series with a broken left wrist. The former Formula One driver, the son of joint record F1 world champion Michael Schumacher, told Sky TV on Thursday he suffered the left wrist injury without being at fault in the season-openening collision in Florida on March 1."Unfortunately a piece of the wrist broke in St Pete[rsburg] and I am still dealing with it. It means that I get out of the car and have pain which is not ideal," Schumacher said."It is exhausting and the right hand has to do a little more at the moment."Schumacher said he would probably have to undergo surgery at the end of the year "in order to piece everything together again."Schumacher raced in F1 2021 and 2022 and was engaged in the Endurance World Championship before joining IndyCar this year. His best race result there so far is 17th place.
