Wilson Isidor wants to leave Sunderland this summer
Wilson Isidor wants to leave Sunderland this summerSunderland attacker Wilson Isidor is ready to quit the Stadium of Light club this summer and the Black Cats are not expected to stand in his way, according to the Sun. The 25-year-old Haiti international played a huge role to help manager Regis Le Bris and Sunderland secure Premier League promotion last term, grabbing 12 goals and two assists in 43 Championship games and also finding the back of the net against Coventry City in the first-leg of their Championship play-off semi-final tie. Isidor has five goals in 30 Premier League appearances this term, with four of those coming in his first nine Premier League games. However, the Frenchman last started a league game for the Black Cats last December and he wants to leave for regular playing opportunities elsewhere. Le Bris plays Brian Brobbey ahead of Isidor, but the wantaway forward is not short of suitors in the English top-flight. Everton and Nottingham Forest wanted to sign the Sunderland star in a permanent deal in the winter transfer window. Crystal Palace and Burnley also showed interest in a late-window loan, but there was not enough time to get a deal done.It remains to be seen whether any of the four clubs will return for Isidor this summer, but the Black Cats have to reduce their 25 million asking price which put potential buyers off in January. Sunderland rejected bids for the former Zenit Saint Petersburg star last summer, but are not expected to stand in his way this summer having been willing to sell him in the winter transfer window.12th-place Sunderland could qualify for Europe if they win their remaining three games of the campaign and those ahead of them drop points. They face Manchester United, Everton and Chelsea and will be desperate to return to winning ways following two defeats and one draw in their last three games.
