Have Red Sox Finally Seen Enough From Polarizing Infielder?
Boston Red Sox logoAfter the Boston Red Sox lost Alex Bregman in free agency this past offseason, they had to find a way to fill his shoes over at third base.Despite rumors connecting the Red Sox to guys like Isaac Paredes of the Houston Astros and Nico Hoerner of the Chicago Cubs, Boston came out of nowhere and acquired Caleb Durbin in a package from the Milwaukee Brewers. He has responded with elite defense over at the hot corner, but it's hard to have his bat in the lineup right now. Durbin is slashing .165/.247/.245 with a .491 OPS in 43 games played.Durbin didn't get into the action over the last two games for Boston. Instead, Boston has rolled with Nick Sogard at third base. He went 1-for-4 with an RBI on Sunday and followed by going 1-for-3 with a walk on Monday. Is this the Red Sox hinting at a change over at the hot corner or just some sort of reset based on matchups? We'll find out more on Tuesday. Two games in a row could be nothing. Three games in a row would really raise some eyebrows.Do you have a take to get off your chest?
