God Shammgod, who famously helped 10th-seeded Providence reach the Elite Eight during the 1997 NCAA tournament and introduced The Shammgod a streetball-esque crossover move to the basketball world, will reportedly continue his NBA coaching career in New Orleans.Shammgod spent the 2025-26 season as an assistant under Jamahl Mosley with the Orlando Magic, and hes now joining Mosleys Pelicans staff, according to NBA insider Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.Orlando fired Mosley after the Magic blew a 3-1 lead in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs. But it wasnt long before he got a chance to rebuild another franchise, as New Orleans brought him aboard as its head coach this week.The Magic won just 22 games in Mosleys first season at the helm. Each of his last three seasons running the ship, Orlando won at least 41 games. It hadnt had a stretch like that since it piled up 50-plus victories four seasons in a row under Stan Van Gundy from 2007-11. Hes now building a coaching rsum in the NBA, with his latest job reportedly coming in New Orleans.
