England's World Cup preparations in Florida have left several Three Lions stars looking rather red-faced quite literally.As the squad gathered for their official tournament photographs, it was clear that the intense Florida sunshine had taken its toll on some of the players.Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice was among those sporting a noticeable sunburn, while goalkeeper Jordan Pickford also appeared distinctly sun-kissed after just over a week in West Palm Beach.Nottingham Forest's Elliot Anderson was another player who'd clearly caught a bit too much sun during the early training sessions in the tropical heat.The sunburn situation extended beyond just those three players, it turns out.Tino Livramento, James Trafford, Anthony Gordon, and Dean Henderson all showed telltale pink patches in spots where they'd clearly missed a bit when applying their sun cream.Some of their teammates fared rather better in the Florida heat, though.John Stones managed to pick up a lovely even tan, as did Jordan Henderson perhaps the latter's time playing in Saudi Arabia with Al Ettifaq made him more mindful about protecting himself from the sun.Fans watching training footage earlier in the week had already noticed how brutal the sessions looked compared to typical English conditions.The tournament organisers have introduced hydration breaks to help players cope with the punishing conditions, where temperatures could regularly hit 40 degrees.England's backroom staff are also bringing in some clever technology to keep the squad cool.Players will have access to high-tech palm-cooling devices during breaks in play, and substitutes sitting on the bench will use them too the idea being to rapidly bring down their core body temperature.It's all part of a comprehensive effort to ensure Thomas Tuchel's men can perform at their best despite the oppressive heat and humidity they'll face throughout the competition.Harry Kane, however, isn't too worried about the conditions his teammates will face.Speaking after England's 1-0 victory over New Zealand in their opening friendly on Sunday, the captain played down concerns about the heat."Obviously, we've been getting used to it in training," Kane said. "After the first couple of days, I felt like most of the lads were used to it."He added: "Today actually didn't feel terrible out there, so I think there's a talking point that might get over spoke about, to be honest."With roughly ten days until their tournament opener, Kane reckons the squad will be fully acclimatised by kick-off.Our Standards: The GB News Editorial Charter
