Two past trade deals came back to haunt the Los Angeles Angels during the series opener against the Baltimore Orioles on Monday. The Angels lost 6-1 to the Orioles, with two of the Halos former players shining during the game. In the first inning, former Angels outfielder Taylor Ward hit a leadoff home run to kickoff the Orioles scoring. Ward has spent his entire eight-season career with the Angels before the trade, and Rodriguez missed the entire 2025 season with an injury.Rodriguez is currently on the 15-day injured list with low back inflammation and has only made six starts this season. In exchange, the Halos received right-handed pitcher Dylan Bundy.Bundy played two seasons with the Angels in 2020 and 2021. By August of the 2020 season, Bundy suffered a season-ending right shoulder strain. And then during the 2021 season, Bundy accrued a career-worst 6.06 ERA in 23 appearances.
