The Los Angeles Rams revealed their new alternate uniforms on Thursday, displaying two looks that are throwbacks to the past. One pays homage to the 1950s teams in Los Angeles, and the other is a nod to the "Fearsome Foursome."Inspiring a new generation with a look back to the past, here are three observations of the uniforms.The all-white is perfect for JanuaryWhen I first saw the all-white uniform, it conjured images of snowy Chicago and how the Rams' white road uniforms blended in so nicely with the snow. It's a sleek look that would look amazing, should the Rams once again be forced to go on the road in the postseason.What really takes it over the top is the white horns. An homage to the past, the way the white pops off the blue really shows off the entire look. The Fearsome FoursomeAs the all-white jersey pays respect to the Rams before the NFL-AFL merger, the current defensive line took a picture honoring the original foursome that defined the look in the 60s and 70s. The current crop of fans may not have been able to enjoy watching the likes of Merlin Olsen, Deacon Jones, Lamar Lundy, and Rosey Grier dominate in their time, but Myles Garrett, Kobie Turner, Braden Fiske, Byron Young, and potentially Aaron Donald should be able to emulate that feeling this season.Regardless, the looks should inspire some phenomenal team football.AD coming home?The yellow uniform reminds me of the one Aaron Donald wore when the Rams defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in 2018, during what is widely regarded as the greatest regular-season game of all time. These looks are tailor-made for Donald. They represent two eras of Los Angeles Rams football: the team before the merger and the team that returned. Now, an alternate uniform won't be the needle-mover that Donald needs to contemplate a return. Perhaps they may conjure up images of the past. Either way, these uniforms represent an overall trend with the franchise. No longer are they trying to find their place in Southern California.The Rams have their home and their fanbase, just like they did all those years ago.
