Angel Reese releases actual 'Bayou Barbie' doll with WNBA All-Star weekend on tap
Bayou Barbie is no longer a nickname for Atlanta Dream star Angel Reese. Its a reality. Reese announced Friday that her Bayou Barbie doll will go on sale Friday. The doll which is an actual Barbie doll is complete with a basketball uniform. The uniform, which is pink, features the name Angel on the front and wears Reeses No. 5. The doll also features Reeses iconic leg sleeve on its left leg. The doll is selling for roughly $38.The announcement comes a day before Reese will take on Caitlin Clark, Aja Wilson and other WNBA stars in the 2026 WNBA All-Star Game. Reese was voted into the game and will serve as a reserve. Reese, 24, has emerged as one of the leagues bigger stars since she was drafted by the Chicago Sky in 2024. Over her first three seasons in the WNBA, Reese averaged 14.4 points and 12.5 rebounds per game. That performance has earned Reese an appearance in the WNBA All-Star Game in each of her three years as a pro.After two seasons in Chicago, Reese was traded to the Dream in the offseason. Shes excelled in her first year with her new squad.Prior to joining the WNBA, Reese spent the final two seasons of her college career at LSU, where she earned the moniker Bayou Barbie. She spent her first two college seasons at Maryland.
